Arraez is not in Saturday's lineup against the Athletics.

Arraez had started four consecutive games since being activated from the 7-day injured list. Rob Refsnyder, who was just recalled prior to the game, will start in left field and hit sixth.

Hoerner is not in the lineup for Saturday's game in Detroit.

Hoerner returned from a forearm injury Friday and immediately entered the starting lineup, but it's no surprise to see that he won't be asked to play two games in a row right away. Eric Sogard will start at second base Saturday, but Hoerner should be expected to start on a regular basis going forward.

Hernandez (hamstring) is participating in a rehab assignment over the weekend and could be activated for the team's road trip beginning Tuesday, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.

Hernandez is set to serve as the designated hitter Saturday and then play in center field Sunday at Triple-A Worcester. If all goes well, he could be activated and back in the lineup beginning Tuesday when the team begins a series with the Blue Jays.

Arroyo (hand) will not participate in batting practice Saturday after feeling pain during soft toss Friday, Bill Koch of The Providence Journal reports.

Arroyo was originally expected to go on a rehab assignment over the weekend, but he has been delayed by lingering pain. There is still optimism he will be able to go on a rehab assignment some time next week.

McNeil (cramps) is expected to be back in the lineup Sunday and is available off the bench Saturday, Justin Toscano of The Bergen Record reports.

McNeil has dealt with cramps throughout the week and is out of the lineup Saturday after serving as the designated hitter Friday. Manager Luis Rojas offered a number of different reasons for his absence, including that the Rays are starting a lefty on Saturday. However, Rojas ultimately did state that he didn't feel McNeil was running run at full speed Friday and may have been hesitant on the basepaths. Assuming all goes well, McNeil should be back Sunday, but the team appears to be taking a cautious approach.

McNeil was dealing body cramps earlier in the week which cost him Wednesday's game. After returning as the designated hitter Friday, he will be out of the lineup once again Saturday with left-hander Shane McClanahan on the mound. Jose Peraza takes over at second base and will hit ninth.

Arroyo (hand) may not be ready for activation when his minimum stay on the 10-day injured list is up Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

There had been talk of Arroyo kicking off a rehab assignment this weekend, but those plans are on hold for now. Arroyo participated in soft toss drills Friday and is expected to take batting practice Saturday. The Red Sox will reassess the path forward after Saturday's session.

Frazier went 4-for-5 with a triple, a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 3-2 win over the Giants.

Frazier had four hits in a game for the first time since August of 2019 and was crucial down the stretch in helping the Pirates secure a come-from-behind win Friday. The 29-year-old led off the ninth with a base hit and later came around to score to tie the game up and send it into extras. He then began the 11th by tying up the game again with a RBI triple and scored the winning run on a sacrifice fly. Frazier is quietly having an excellent season, slashing .315/.383/.456 with 16 extra-base hits, 13 RBI, 20 runs scored, three steals and a 14:19 BB:K.

India went 2-for-4 with a double and a two-run home run in Friday's loss to the Rockies. He was also caught stealing.

India had been in a bad way at the plate -- he entered this series in a 3-for-37 slide -- but a trip to Coors Field was just what the doctor ordered. He has homered in consecutive games and has raised his slash line from .208/.304/.312 to .235/.320/.412 in the span of two days.

Manager Aaron Boone indicated that Torres (COVID-19 IL) could rejoin the Yankees "real soon," Kristie Ackert of the New York Daily News reports.

Torres was placed on the COVID-19 injured list Thursday after testing positive for the coronavirus, but he is reportedly asymptomatic. Since the shortstop is fully vaccinated, he could return earlier than 10 days if he has no symptoms and tests negative for the virus at least twice. Gio Urshela (knee) and Tyler Wade have covered the shortstop position for New York in the two games that Torres has been out.
