  • Luis Garcia 2B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Bangs out three hits Thursday

Garcia went 3-for-4 with a double in Thursday's extra-innings win over the Rockies.

The knocks didn't produce any offense, but only because James Wood kept homering in front of him to clear the decks. Garcia has been locked in at the plate for over a month, slashing .327/.358/.525 in his last 106 plate appearances with 11 doubles, three homers, 14 runs and 18 RBI. The one blemish on his resume during that stretch has been his performance on the basepaths -- Garcia has stolen only one bag in five attempts during those 27 games after beginning the season with a perfect 6-for-6 showing.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Three-hit effort in win

Cronenworth went 3-for-4 with a double and one RBI in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Dodgers.

Cronenworth logged his first multi-hit effort since June 4 versus the Giants. He's still been steady at the plate, hitting safely in eight of his last nine games, batting .313 (10-for-32) in that span. The infielder is up to a .252/.368/.409 slash line with five home runs, 19 RBI, 22 runs scored, two stolen bases, eight doubles and a triple over 50 contests.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Homers in nightcap

Gonzales went 4-for-10 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Thursday's doubleheader split with the Tigers.

After going 1-for-5 with a double in Thursday's opener, Gonzales opened the scoring in the nightcap with a homer off Tyler Holton, his second of the season and first since Opening Day. Gonzales has gone 7-for-22 (.318) over his last five games, boosting his slash line to .259/.290/.448 with four RBI and seven runs scored through his first 62 plate appearances this year.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Twins' Kody Clemens: Goes yard against Reds

Clemens went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run and an additional run scored during Thursday's 12-5 win over Cincinnati.

Clemens launched his seventh home run of the season, tagging Nick Martinez for a two-run homer that plated Ryan Jeffers. Clemens came into Thursday's contest hitless in his last 11 at-bats and without a multi-hit game since May 19. On the year, Clemens is slashing .219/.317/.486 in 121 plate appearances.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Three hits vs. Toronto

Marte went 3-for-5 with an RBI double and two runs scored in Thursday's 9-5 win over the Blue Jays.

Marte registered his second three-hit game of the season Thursday while extending the Diamondbacks' lead to seven runs in the sixth with an RBI double. Marte has been hot at the plate in June, slashing .317/.431/.533 with 15 runs scored, four home runs and 11 RBI in 72 plate appearances this month.

  • Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: Will be demoted to Triple-A

The Red Sox are expected to option Campbell to Triple-A Worcester ahead of Friday's series opener against the Giants, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.

Campbell broke into the big leagues with a .301/.407/.495 batting line through the end of April, but he has slashed only .159/.243/.222 since and has also struggled defensively at second base. He'll get a reset at Worcester and has a good chance to rejoin the big club later this season. David Hamilton has started each of the last three games at second base for the Red Sox and should continue to hold down the position for the time being against righties. Once Alex Bregman (quad) comes back, Marcelo Mayer is an option to shift to the keystone.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Day off Thursday

Fitzgerald is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Guardians.

Fitzgerald will head to the bench for the second time in four contests while he slashed just .143/.218/.163 to begin June. Christian Koss will start at second base and bat ninth for the Giants in the series finale.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | CHW

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: On bench for Game 1

Sosa is out of the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the Cardinals.

Sosa had been scheduled to sit out Wednesday's game against right-hander Sonny Gray before the contest was postponed due to inclement weather. The two teams are making up the postponed game with a doubleheader Thursday, and Sosa will still find himself on the bench for the first contest of the day while St. Louis sends righty Erick Fedde to the bump. Sosa had been a near-everyday player for the White Sox prior to landing on the injured list June 4 with a hip flexor strain, and despite being activated earlier this week, he might have to settle for more of a part-time role in the Chicago infield.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Sitting out first game of day

Donovan is not in the lineup for the first game of Thursday's doubleheader versus the White Sox.

The Cardinals will go with Nolan Gorman at second base in the first game of the twin bill. Donovan should be back in the lineup for the second game of the day.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | COL

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Remains out Thursday

Estrada (hand) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Nationals.

Estrada will miss a second straight start after exiting Tuesday's 10-6 win when he was hit by a pitch on the right hand. He will be hoping to return to the lineup when the Rockies return home Friday to begin a series against the Diamondbacks. Orlando Arcia will handle second base and bat eighth Thursday.
