  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Gets first day off

Hernandez will get his first day off of the season Thursday against the Blue Jays.

Trevor Story will ascend to the leadoff spot while Jackie Bradley shifts to center field and Christian Arroyo starts in right field. Hernandez is hitting .157/.246/.333 with one home run and a 12:6 K:BB in 51 at-bats.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Joins .200 club

Marte went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-2 win over the Nationals.

Marte is the latest Diamondback regular to push his average to .200 or better, making him one four players at or above the Mendoza line. He barely missed a home run on his first bat before popping out Wednesday, but the second baseman later was involved in a pair of rallies in a breakout performance for the team. The Diamondbacks plated half as many runs in this one game as they had in the previous 11.

  • Diamondbacks' Yonny Hernandez: Steals second bag

Hernandez started at third base and went 1-for-4 with a stolen base and two runs scored in Wednesday's 11-2 win over the Nationals.

The stolen base was Hernandez's second, and the runs were his first, in eight games since being called up from Triple-A Reno. The utility infielder has started four of the last five games at third base, as he and Sergio Alcantara continue to share the position while Josh Rojas (oblique) is unavailable. The hot corner is among the many areas the Diamondbacks need help -- the team's third basemen bring up the rear with a .111 batting average -- but the club seems intent on waiting for Rojas, who recently begun swinging a bat in his rehab program.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Giants' Thairo Estrada: Swipes bag in win

Estrada went 0-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Wednesday's 5-2 win over the Mets.

Estrada earned his second steal in as many attempts this season after drawing a ninth-inning walk. This was also his second straight hitless game. He's now slashing .227/.261/.409 with two home runs, eight RBI and 10 runs scored through 12 contests. Estrada figures to continue serving as the Giants' primary second baseman while Tommy La Stella (Achilles) is on the injured list, but the former will likely need to hit slightly better to keep the job long-term.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Mariners' Adam Frazier: Registers three hits, stolen base

Frazier went 3-for-4 with two doubles, a walk, a stolen base and a run in Wednesday's 4-2 win over the Rangers.

Frazier got things going for the Mariners' offense from the leadoff spot, notching his fourth multi-hit game of the season and collecting his first theft. He also drew his second walk of the campaign and extended his modest hitting steak to five games. Over that stretch, he is batting .524 (11-for-21) with three doubles, four runs and five RBI.

  • Ha-seong Kim SS | ATL

Padres' Ha-Seong Kim: Smacks first homer

Kim went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Wednesday against the Reds.

Kim took Buck Farmer yard in the seventh inning to collect his first homer of the season. He's primarily split playing time with CJ Abrams at shortstop to begin the season, though Kim was in the lineup Wednesday due to Luke Voit getting a day off. Kim's overall line remains unremarkable, but he has racked up eight runs scored across only 32 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH

Mets' Jeff McNeil: Not starting against lefty

McNeil is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game versus San Francisco, Anthony DiComo of MLB.com reports.

McNeil went 1-for-9 with a double, two RBI and a run in Tuesday's doubleheader and will take a seat with left-hander Carlos Rodon on the mound for the Giants. He started the past five games in left field, but he should see more action at second base moving forward with Mark Canha (illness) returning from the COVID-19 injured list.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Gets breather Wednesday

Ibanez isn't starting Wednesday against the Mariners.

Ibanez will get a day off after he went 0-for-6 with three strikeouts in his last two appearances. Brad Miller will shift to third base while Willie Calhoun starts in left field.

  • Jack Mayfield 2B | LAA

Angels' Jack Mayfield: Retreats to bench

Mayfield is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Astros.

Mayfield drew starts in the infield over the past three contests and went a collective 4-for-12 to extend his hitting streak to seven games dating back to Opening Day. Despite his solid production at the plate when called upon this season, Mayfield looks set to remain in a utility role. Third baseman Anthony Rendon is healthy again after a recent bout with an illness, and Tyler Wade and Andrew Velazquez appear to be manager Joe Maddon's preferred options in the middle infield over Mayfield.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

Astros' Jose Altuve: Sent to injured list

The Astros placed Altuve (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Wednesday.

Though general manager James Click relayed earlier Wednesday that imaging conducted on Altuve's strained left hamstring didn't reveal anything overly concerning, the 31-year-old will still be deactivated for at least the next week and a half while he waits for his left leg to fully heal. Click suggested a minimum-length IL stay could be in play for Altuve, but that will likely be contingent on the seven-time All-Star being able to run the bases and field his position without any discomfort within the next few days. The Astros will likely lean on a combination of Aledmys Diaz and Niko Goodrum to pick up starts at the keystone while Altuve is on the mend.
