Arraez isn't starting Wednesday against the Tigers.

Arraez has drawn three starts against left-handed pitchers over the last week but will head to the bench with southpaw Tyler Alexander on the mound Wednesday. Jose Miranda is serving as the designated hitter while Mark Contreras enters the lineup in right field.

Rodgers went 3-for-6 with two walks, a solo home run and three runs scored across both games of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Padres.

Rodgers delivered his 10th home run of the season in the first game, taking Yu Darvish yard in the fourth frame. He's been strong across the last month -- spanning 29 games -- during which he's maintained a .318/.371/.445 line with three home runs, 14 RBI and 15 runs scored. While he hasn't shown much growth in production from his 15-homer 2021 campaign, Rodgers has settled into being a reasonably productive player as the Rockies' everyday second baseman.

Miller will start at first base and bat cleanup in Wednesday's game against the Diamondbacks.

He'll pick up his third consecutive start after going 1-for-8 with a home run, two RBI and an additional run in the first two contests of the series. Miller has typically been occupying a short-side platoon role at first base in recent weeks with Josh Naylor -- who is sitting Wednesday with lefty Tommy Henry on the hill for Arizona -- but manager Terry Francona could find room for both hitters to play more frequently against right-handers in the wake of top designated hitter Franmil Reyes being optioned to Triple-A Columbus.

The Guardians optioned Clement to Triple-A Columbus on Wednesday.

Clement will surrender his role as the Guardians' top utility infielder to Tyler Freeman, who was called up from Columbus in a corresponding move. The 26-year-old Clement had seen scarce playing time at the big-league level this season, with most of his opportunities coming against left-handed pitching. He hit just .203 with three extra-base hits -- all doubles -- in 158 plate appearances with Cleveland.

Haggerty (forehead) is starting Wednesday against the Yankees.

Haggerty wasn't in the lineup over the last three games due to a cut on his forehead, but he appeared as a pinch hitter Tuesday and went 2-for-2 with a solo homer and two runs. He'll start in right field while Kyle Lewis serves as the designated hitter.

Merrifield isn't starting Wednesday against the Rays.

Merrifield was traded from the Royals to the Blue Jays on Tuesday but won't make his team debut during Wednesday's series finale in Tampa Bay. Santiago Espinal is starting at the keystone and batting eighth.

Lowe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Along with Lowe, fellow left-handed-hitting regulars Ji-Man Choi and Luke Raley will take a seat while southpaw Yusei Kikuchi takes the hill for Toronto. Yu Chang will step in at second base as a replacement for Lowe, who went 8-for-38 (.211 average) with four extra-base hits (two home runs, two doubles) over his last 10 games.

Garcia went 2-for-4 with an RBI double and a two-run home run home run in Tuesday's win over the Mets.

Garcia's two-run double came in the fourth inning and was the only run allowed by Jacob deGrom. Garcia then sent Victor Robles home on a two-run shot in the sixth for his fourth home run of the year. In his last seven games, the shortstop is 10-for-27, with two home runs and three multi-hit performances. He increased his batting average from .277 to .290 during that span.

Haggerty (forehead) went 2-for-2 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 8-6 victory over the Yankees.

Haggerty entered Tuesday's game as a pinch hitter for Jarred Kelenic and launched a go-ahead solo shot in the seventh inning. This was his first home run since July 14. Haggerty has seen limited time this season with just 72 at-bats, but he has performed well. The outfielder has five multi-hit performances across 18 appearances since the start of July. Haggerty is slashing .306/.351/.528 on the season, with three home runs and five steals.

Lux went 2-for-4 with a triple, two runs and two RBI in Tuesday's 9-5 victory over San Francisco.

Lux knocked an RBI single and scored in the second inning, delivered an RBI fielder's choice in third and scored after tripling in the eighth to break an 0-for-11 stretch across his last four games. The successful performance raises Lux's slash line to .298/.373/.427 while he boasts 52 runs, 32 RBI, four home runs and six stolen bases.
