Haggerty went 0-for-4 with a hit-by-pitch, a stolen base and a run in a win over the Angels on Wednesday.

Even on the rare occasions these days when he doesn't hit safely, Haggerty still seems to find a way to contribute. Working out of the No. 9 spot Wednesday, the veteran outfielder was plunked in the third inning, stole second base and eventually came around to score on Mitch Haniger's single. Haggerty has been complementing a red-hot bat with some solid stolen-base production of late, as he's now swiped three bags in the last four games.

Marte (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Giants.

Marte entered as a pinch hitter in Wednesday's contest, but he is not ready for a full nine innings just yet. Josh Rojas will again man the keystone for the Diamondbacks.

Urias is not in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Dodgers.

Mike Brosseau started at third base the last four times a left-hander opened on the mound for the opponent, and he will do the same Thursday. Urias is hitting just .156 (7-for-45) in August, so a day off could do him some good.

Sosa is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Astros.

Even with Leury Garcia (back) joining Tim Anderson (hand) on the injured list Wednesday, Sosa won't necessarily be handed the keys to the everyday shortstop role. In fact, Sosa will find himself on the bench Thursday for the second day in a row, as fellow rookie Romy Gonzalez draws another start at shortstop after going 1-for-4 with a double in his 2022 MLB debut. Since joining the White Sox on Aug. 7, Sosa has gone 3-for-22 (.136 average) with a solo home run in six games.

Hernandez started in center field, batted ninth and went 1-for-5 with an RBI in Wednesday's 8-3 win over Pittsburgh.

Hernandez was activated off the injured list Tuesday and served at shortstop, as Boston manager Alex Cora gave Xander Bogaerts a rest day after fouling a ball off himself over the weekend. Hernandez should be the primary center fielder the rest of the season, but his days as the leadoff hitter appear to be over. He batted fifth Tuesday followed by Wednesday's slot at ninth, the first time he's hit at the bottom of the order in 2022.

Torres went 2-for-5 with a homer, two RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's victory over Tampa Bay.

Torres hit a two-run homer off righty starter Corey Kluber with nobody out in the sixth to cut the Yankees' deficit to two. Like most of his team, the shortstop has struggled mightily in August with a .183 batting average and .250 slugging percentage in 60 at-bats over 15 games. Furthermore, the 25-year-old only has three RBI during that span.

Marte (hamstring) entered Wednesday's game as a pinch hitter and went 0-for-1 in a 3-2 win over the Giants.

Marte pinch hit for Alek Thomas in the seventh but did not play the field beyond that plate appearance, as Daulton Varsho replaced Thomas in center field. Marte's appearance as a pinch hitter suggests his hamstring injury is a minor one, and he could return to the starting lineup before the end of the week.

Arroyo went 3-for-5 with a double, three RBI and a run scored in Wednesday's victory over Pittsburgh.

Arroyo tied the game 2-2 with a two-run double off righty Roansy Contreras in the second and later tacked on an RBI single. The second baseman has been feeling it of late with a .381 batting average and .958 OPS in 63 at-bats over his last 17 games, and he has a 6.0 percent walk rate during that span.

Altuve went 0-for-3 with a walk, a run and two stolen bases in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox.

Altuve struck out in two of his four plate appearances, but he made the most of his lone time on base. The second baseman walked to lead off the contest, subsequently stole both second and third base and came around to score on a sacrifice fly. Altuve is up to 12 thefts on the campaign, his highest mark since he swiped 17 bases in 2018.

Donovan went 3-for-5 with a double, one RBI and one run scored in Wednesday's 5-1 win over Colorado.

Donovan got the job done Wednesday, notching three hits while batting in the No. 2 hole in front of Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Arenado. This was just his second multi-hit game since the beginning of August, but that can be partially explained by manager Oliver Marmol regularly rotating batters in and out of the lineup recently. Donovan owns a robust .399 OBP over 86 games on the season, but it is unlikely that he will maintain everyday playing time while the Cardinals are flooded with options in the field.
