Drury was lifted from Wednesday's contest against the Padres after landing awkwardly on his right leg, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Drury was 1-for-1 with two walks before being forced out of the game with the injury. Nick Ahmed subbed in at shortstop while Chris Owings slid over to fill in at second base. It's unclear how serious the injury is at this point, so consider him day-to-day until the Diamondbacks release more information about his status.

Tomlinson was recalled from Triple-A Sacramento on Wednesday, Henry Schulman of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

Tomlinson was added as infield depth, as starting shortstop Brandon Crawford was placed on the bereavement list earlier Wednesday. He'll likely come off the bench with Eduardo Nunez set to fill in at shortstop, though he could see some occasional starts at second base.

Ngoepe was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

The 27-year-old Ngoepe should give the Pirates some extra depth in the infield with David Freese (hamstring) unavailable Wednesday and Adam Frazier (hamstring) on the disabled list. It's not expected that Ngoepe, the first native African player to reach the major leagues, will be in store for an everyday role after submitting a .308 on-base percentage at Triple-A, but his ability to play multiple infield positions could prove valuable off the bench.

Drury went 3-for-5 with a double in Tuesday's 9-3 win over the Padres.

Drury was one of six Diamondbacks batters to record at least two hits, and it's already the fifth multi-hit game of the campaign for the 24-year-old. If there's one criticism that can be levied at a hitter who's batting .300 on the season, it's that Drury's strikeouts are beginning to mount. He's now whiffed seven times in his last seven games, which puts his average at risk of falling once his .382 BABIP normalizes.

Ngoepe is expected to be called up by the Pirates on Wednesday, Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports reports.

Ngoepe provides some depth to a Pirates infield hampered by the absences of David Freese (hamstring) and Adam Frazier (hamstring). The 27-year-old is slashing .241/.308/.379 with four RBI for Triple-A Indianapolis this season and would be the first South African to ever play in the majors if he gets into a game, but will likely be sent back down once the regulars are up to full health. Don't expect any miraculous performances from the career .232 hitter.

Forsythe (toe) has begun participating in baseball activities, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

Forsythe landed on the disabled list after fracturing his toe during a HBP on April 18. Gurnick's report confirms that the fracture has healed enough to allow the second baseman to resume partaking in baseball activities. His exact timetable for return still remains unclear, but it sounds like the 30-year-old is making measurable progress. We'll continue to update his condition as additional news becomes available.

Diaz, 20, is hitting .217/.284/.333 with two home runs, eight RBI and one steal through 16 games with High-A Carolina.

Diaz continues to strike out with entirely too much frequency, fanning 20 times to begin the season. Still, he is not afraid to take a walk, and has shown much more pop than expected for his size and position. The Brewers have no reason to rush him to the bigs with Orlando Arcia and Mauricio Dubon technically ahead of him in the pecking order.

Arroyo -- who went 0-for-4 in his major-league debut Monday -- is expected to primarily start at third going forward, according to Alex Pavlovic of CBS Sports.

The 21-year-old didn't record a hit in his first game with the big club, but he didn't look outclassed at the plate either, seeing 20 pitches in his four at-bats. With the Giants' offense struggling to get off the ground, Arroyo should be given a strong look at third base to see if his bat can inject some life into the team. He is a rookie, so he will likely experience some ups and downs, but he is definitely worth an add to see if he can continue the success he was having with Triple-A Sacramento this season (.446/.478/.692).

Hernandez started in center Monday, batting eighth and going 1-for-3 in a loss to the Giants.

Hernandez -- who normally starts primarily against lefties -- got a start in place of the injured Joc Pederson (groin) against a right-hander. It appears that the 25-year-old will receive a short stint of regular playing time while Pederson heals on the disabled list. Even with a regular role, Hernandez's career .233 batting average against righties limits his value to deep and NL-only formats.

Solarte went 3-for-5 with three singles and a run scored in Monday's 7-6 loss to Arizona.

After a recent cold stretch, Solarte now has a modest five-game hitting streak and raised his average to .267 with his third three-hit performance of the season. The 29-year-old doesn't hit for much power, but his high contact rate makes him a good bet to help owners once again with a respectable average. Solarte's multi-position eligibility is another aspect that makes him a decent utility player in deep mixed formats.
