Tomlinson was recalled from Triple-A Salt Lake on Thursday, John Shea of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

The versatile Tomlinson has appeared in 35 games for the big league club this season, hitting .289 with three RBI, 10 walks and 13 strikeouts in 76 at-bats. A .285 hitter at the Triple-A level, Tomlinson will provide utility depth for the Giants over the final month-plus of the season. The 26-year-old has seen time at second base, shortstop, third base and left field over the past two seasons.

Ngoepe has been suspended by the Pirates following his arrest early Sunday after an altercation outside a Toledo bar.

Ngoepe was suspended seven days and will miss the remainder of the Triple-A season. He was drinking with two other minor league players -- Dovydas Neverauskas from the Pirates system and Warwick Saupold from the Tigers system -- when a disagreement with another man escalated into a large fight. Ngoepe was charged with assault and two counts of resisting arrest. Pirates general manager Neal Huntington was quick to condemn his players' actions, saying the team is "extremely disappointed" in the actions of its players. Ngoepe is scheduled to appear in court on September 13.

Rodgers, 20, was named South Atlantic League Most Outstanding Major League Prospect, milb.com reports.

Rodgers is hitting .282 with 19 homers and 73 RBIs in 109 games. The 2015 No. 3 overall pick owns a .343 OBP and has 31 doubles. He is one of the top hitting prospects in baseball.

Frazier was optioned to rookie-level Bristol on Sunday, Stephen J. Nesbitt of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.

Frazier had been seeing regular playing time with the Pirates and owns a .321/.345/.457 line after appearing in 39 games. Although his numbers are solid, the team felt the need to add bullpen depth and recalled A.J. Schugel, making Frazier dispensable at this point in time. However, the move seems to be strategic, as Bristol's season concludes Thursday, so it's highly likely that Frazier will return to the big club by the weekend when rosters have expanded.

Renda was optioned back to Triple-A Louisville on Saturday.

Renda spent just under a month with the big league club, but he'll return to Louisville as the Reds bring up catcher Raffy Lopez. The 25-year-old Renda appeared in 16 games for Cincinnati, hitting .222 with a pair of RBI in 27 at-bats. He'll likely return to the Reds when rosters expand next month.

Hernandez is out of the lineup Saturday against the Cubs.

Hernandez has started three of the last four games (all against opposing lefties) but will head back to the bench with right-hander Jason Hammel due up. While he hasn't fared well this season, it appears Hernandez will continue to play regularly against lefties between center field and second base.

Wall, 20, is hitting .342 with four steals over his last 10 games for High-A Modesto.

Wall has been stellar of late, though he has not hit particularly well overall in 2016. He is batting .267/.328/.363 on the season, though he does have 20 steals along with six home runs. The potential of double-digit home runs and 20-plus steals does make him an intriguing prospect, especially if he sticks at second base.

Espinosa's bat showed some life on Monday, going 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a loss to the Orioles.

Espinosa had a massive month of June, but hasn't gotten much done at the dish in any other month. The shortstop has a .175 batting average this month, and Monday's blast was his first home run since July 3. Fort he season Espinosa has a .216 average with 19 home runs and 59 RBI.

Drury went 2-for-3 with an RBI in Sunday's loss to the Padres.

Drury drove in Arizona's lone run and was the team's only player with more than one hit. The 24-year-old is getting fairly regular playing time in the outfield, but recent call-up Mitch Haniger has been earning a look lately as well. Drury remains an option in daily leagues when he's in the lineup, but there are probably better choices in standard leagues.

Herrera (general soreness) has been used as a pinch hitter in three of the last four games for Triple-A Louisville.

It seems that he is healthy enough to hit, but not take the field, suggesting that the "general soreness" he is dealing with is lower-body soreness. Considering he has not been placed on the minor league DL and has been used regularly as a pinch hitter, he should return to the field in the near future. Herrera is a prime candidate to receive a September call-up, as he is generally seen as big league ready and he is on the 40-man roster. However, with Brandon Phillips still in the picture, playing time may be hard to come by for Herrera in September.
