  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Homers in return

Edman went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Tuesday in a 5-4 win against Cincinnati.

Edman sat out Monday due to an ankle issue, but he felt good enough to return to the starting lineup Tuesday. The infielder/outfielder certainly seemed fine in his first at-bat, as he poked a two-run homer to right field. It was his second long ball of the second half of the campaign, and during that span he's slashing .250/.294/.438 with five RBI over nine games.

  • Kyle Farmer 3B | ATL

Rockies' Kyle Farmer: Hits solo blast Tuesday

Farmer went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Guardians.

Farmer left the yard in the ninth inning for his fifth home run this year, tying his total from last season. He's now scored four runs over his last two games but has not shown much life at the plate otherwise, slashing .216/.265/.347.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

    Pirates' Liover Peguero: Clubs homer

Peguero went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional RBI in Tuesday's 3-1 win over the Giants.

Peguero tied the game at 1-1 in the fifth inning and added another RBI with a groundout in the eighth. The long ball was his first in the majors since the 2023 campaign, though he's hit a combined 18 homers over 200 games with Triple-A Indianapolis in 2024 and 2025. In the majors this year, he is batting .263 with a 1:5 BB:K across 21 plate appearances. He's made starts at first base, second base and shortstop over the last four games and appears to be a reserve utility infielder at this time.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Knocks fourth homer

Hoerner went 3-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to Milwaukee.

Hoerner singled in the second and fourth innings before knocking a solo shot in the sixth. He snapped a 23-game homerless drought and now has four home runs in 103 games this season, all of them coming in his last 29 contests. In that same 29-game span, he's stolen only five bags and has not swiped any in his last six appearances. Hoerner is slashing .293/.340/.385 with 58 runs scored this year.

  • Luis Garcia 1B | WAS

Nationals' Luis Garcia: Goes deep in defeat

Garcia went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Astros.

Although his six-game hitting streak reached a close after he entered as a pinch hitter in Monday's win over Houston, Garcia got right back on track Tuesday and now has at least one hit in his last seven starts. The infielder remains Washington's primary second baseman, but he has routinely been on the bench versus left-handed starters. That said, Garcia is batting a healthy .277 with nine long balls, 19 doubles and 41 RBI through 278 at-bats against right-handed pitching.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Getting rest Tuesday

Donovan is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's contest against the Marlins.

Donovan is in a mini slump, having gone hitless over his last four games, so he'll receive a day off to regroup. Thomas Saggese will cover second base and bat seventh for the Cardinals.

  • Tommy Edman 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Tommy Edman: Returns to lineup Tuesday

Edman (ankle) will start at third base and bat seventh in Tuesday's contest versus the Reds.

Edman was absent from Monday's lineup due to a right ankle injury he suffered over the weekend, but he tested the ankle out pregame Tuesday and felt well enough to give it a go. The switch hitter is slashing a woeful .150/.239/.200 in July.

  • Hye Seong Kim SS | LAD

Dodgers' Hyeseong Kim: Placed on IL with shoulder issue

The Dodgers placed Kim on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with left shoulder bursitis.

Kim has been nursing the shoulder problem for more than a week, and while he was in the Dodgers' lineup Monday in Cincinnati, the team has ultimately decided it's best for the 26-year-old to rest for a bit. According to Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times, Kim will head back to Los Angeles to receive an injection and will be shut down for a few days, but there's optimism he won't be sidelined for too long.

  • Alex Freeland 2B | LAD

Dodgers' Alex Freeland: Summoned to big leagues

The Dodgers selected Freeland's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.

One of the team's top prospects, Freeland earned a promotion after slashing .253/.377/.421 with 12 home runs and 17 stolen bases at Oklahoma City. The switch hitter should see some action in the infield with Hyeseong Kim (shoulder) landing on the 10-day injured list and with Tommy Edman (ankle) banged up. Freeland's stint in the majors could be short, however, as Max Muncy (knee) is due back from the injured list soon.

  • Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Taking seat Tuesday

Estrada is not in the lineup for Tuesday's contest in Cleveland.

Estrada started each of the past four games upon his return from the 10-day injured list, but he will get a breather Tuesday. Kyle Farmer is at second base and batting seventh for the Rockies.
