Braves' Ozzie Albies: Clubs another homer Wednesday

Albies went 3-for-6 with two singles and a solo homer in Wednesday's win over the Nationals.

Albies continues to knock the top off the ball. The 21-year-old is now 15-for-54 (.278) on the season, with four of those hits leaving the yard and another six going for extra bases. He'll look to keep things rolling as the Braves head to Chicago for a three-game series with the Cubs over the weekend.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Brings elite approach to PCL

Urias is hitting .313 with a 3:6 K:BB in five games for Triple-A El Paso.

This is par for the course for Urias, who has walked more than he has struck out in every season as a pro. He has not yet hit an extra-base hit, but that won't stop him from getting a promotion to the majors this summer. He could get on base at a .360 or .370 clip while providing plus defense at second base as a rookie. Urias turns 21 in June.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Doubles twice Tuesday

Albies went 2-for-4 with two doubles and a run scored in Tuesday's 4-1 loss to the Nationals.

He's only hitting .250 so far, but remarkably nine of Albies' 12 hits have gone for extra bases (five doubles, one triple, three homers), giving him a .583 SLG through 11 games. A three-game series in Coors Field certainly helped boost those numbers, but the 21-year-old flashed a developing power stroke in 2017, and it seems to have carried forward into this season.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Riding the bench

Frazier grounded out to shortstop in a pinch-hitting appearance Tuesday.

He's started just one of Pittsburgh's last eight games and has one hit in eight at-bats over that time period. He'll likely need to wait for injuries to strike before seeing regular playing time. With a career .282 batting average, Frazier has the potential to help fantasy teams, but he's simply not seeing enough playing time right now.

  • L.J. Mazzilli 2B | NYY

Mets' LJ Mazzilli: Shipped to Yankees

Mazzilli was traded to the Yankees from the Mets on Tuesday in exchange for Kendall Coleman.

The swap was very much a low-level one, with neither player seemingly much of an asset. Mazzilli is a 27-year-old who has played just 34 games at the Triple-A level; Coleman is a 2013 11th-round pick who hit .212 in short-season ball last year. If the Yankees' injury crisis deepens, Mazzilli could get called upon, but nothing in his track record suggests he'll be a fantasy asset if that happens. It's more likely that Mazzilli's role will be to fill in at the high minors for other players who get called up as injury replacements.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Two hits in Monday's win

Rosario went 2-for-4 with a double, a run scored and an RBI in Monday's 4-2 win over the Marlins.

The young shortstop continues to enjoy a solid start at the plate despite hitting ninth in the order, slashing .296/.321/.407 through eight games with six RBI and four runs. Rosario's still looking for his first steal of the year, and his 1:12 BB:K in 29 plate appearances suggests some rough times ahead for his batting average, but the 22-year-old's upside remains sky high even if it takes him a couple of seasons to blossom as a hitter.

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Swats third homer Sunday

Albies went 2-for-4 with a double, a home run and two RBI in Sunday's win over the Rockies.

The 21-year-old took full advantage of his time at Coors Field this weekend, going 5-for-12 with four extra-base hits (two doubles, two homers) in the three-game set. Albies is only hitting .244 (10-for-41) through the first nine games of the season with one steal, but both numbers should improve as the weather warms up. The question is whether the early power display he's put on will also continue, turning him from a useful three-category performer to a five-category fantasy star.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Records hit vs. Cardinals

Marte went 1-for-4 in Sunday's 4-1 win over St. Louis.

Marte has notched a hit in each of his past four games, although he's slashing just .211/.231/.342 through his first nine games played. His numbers figure to go up once he notches more at-bats. Marte finished the 2017 season batting .260 with five home runs and 18 RBI in 73 games.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Starting in right field Saturday

Frazier will bat second and start in right field against the Reds on Saturday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.

Frazier was going to serve as a bench option Saturday but will instead start in right with starter Gregory Polanco a late scratch due to right foot discomfort. The 26-year-old had not received a start since the second game of the season and is 4-for-13 with a double.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Pops second homer of season Friday

Albies went 2-for-5 with a double, a solo home run and a second run scored in Friday's 8-3 win over the Rockies.

The 21-year-old has just seven hits in 34 at-bats to begin the season, but five of them have gone for extra bases -- two doubles, two homers and a triple. Expect Albies' batting average to rise as the weather warms up, giving him five-category upside if his current power display carries forward.
