  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Impressive day at dish

Hernandez went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored Thursday against the Angels.

Hernandez laced a single to center field in the second inning and reached base again in the third on a groundball single to left. He's slashing .333/.350/.850 and has driven in six runs so far this spring.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Sitting out another day

Rosario (hand) is out of the lineup for Thursday's Grapefruit League game against the Nationals, Deesha Thosar of the New York Daily News reports.

Rosario hasn't played since Monday, when he was removed from the Mets' exhibition against the Rays after taking a pitch off his left hand. With X-rays on Rosario's hand returning negative, the Mets are just taking a cautious approach with their star young shortstop while he contends with some soreness. He should check back into the lineup within a few days.

  • Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL

Braves' Ozzie Albies: Exits after HBP

Albies left Wednesday's game after being hit by a pitch on the left foot, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.

The injury doesn't appear to be serious -- Braves manager Brian Snitker said Albies was nearly due to come out of the game anyway, and the removal was only precautionary. After a team off-day Thursday, the second baseman is expected back in the starting lineup Friday against the Phillies.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Still out Thursday

Urias (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Thursday against the Rangers.

There was a report Wednesday that Urias could be ready to return to action for this contest, but that will not be the case. He completed a full workout Wednesday, uninhibited, but given the hamstring issues he has dealt with over the past six months, the team appears to be exercising caution.

  • Giants' Yangervis Solarte: Adds defensive versatility

Solarte logged six innings in left field in the Giants' last spring training contest Monday.

Solarte was brought in to the Giants' camp on a minor-league deal to compete for a utility-infield role. Monday's usage in the outfield hints that the club may have a larger utility role in mind. Adding outfield eligibility certainly wouldn't hurt.

  • Mauricio Dubon SS | ATL

Brewers' Mauricio Dubon: Not ready to play

Manager Craig Counsell said Dubon's (illness) condition is improving but the shortstop isn't yet ready for game action, Tom Haudricourt of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports.

Counsell expressed confidence that Dubon would have enough time to regain health ahead of the start of the Triple-A season, which suggests the 24-year-old is more of a week-to-week timeline and not on track for a multi-month absence. In any case, Dubon's absence for most of the Brewers' Cactus League slate is harmful to his development after a torn ACL wiped out the majority of his 2018 campaign.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

    Padres' Luis Urias: Nearing return

Urias (hamstring) could return to the lineup Thursday against the Rangers, AJ Cassavell of MLB.com reports.

He went through a scheduled workout Wednesday uninhibited and it sounds like he could return Thursday if he feels fine. Urias was scratched from Tuesday's game due to general fatigue in both hamstrings, which was a concerning diagnosis, given that he spent much of the offseason recovering from a significant hamstring injury that ended his 2018 season. We will need to see him get a string of spring games under his belt before comfortably putting the issue in the rearview mirror.

  • Nick Franklin 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Franklin: Injury not helping chances

Franklin has yet to play in the Grapefruit League because of right hamstring tightness, John Perrotto of DK Pittsburgh Sports reports.

The non-roster invitee is fighting an uphill battle to make the Opening Day roster. Although he's taking part in baseball activities and getting close to making his spring debut, Franklin will likely start the 2019 campaign in Triple-A.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Makes spring debut Tuesday

Frazier went 1-for-3 with an RBI double in his Grapefruit League debut Tuesday.

The Pirates limited him to simulated games for the first two weeks of camp, as they did with a number of starters. Frazier figures to bat leadoff during the regular season and should score plenty of runs. He slashed .306/.357/.503 in his final 196 plate appearances in 2018, but has yet to put together a complete season. With Josh Harrison no longer on the team's roster, Frazier will get every chance to prove his worth in 2019.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Padres' Luis Urias: Dealing with hamstring fatigue

Urias was scratched from Tuesday's game against the Mariners due to general fatigue in both hamstrings.

The Padres are calling Urias' removal from the lineup precautionary. The youngster will be reevaluated Wednesday. His status will be worth extra monitoring after his rookie campaign was cut short due to a hamstring injury.
