  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Making case for promotion

Rodgers is slashing .339/.409/.603 with seven homers and 18 RBI for Triple-A Albuquerque through 121 at-bats.

Rodgers is the most highly rated prospect in the Rockies' system and he's been mashing Triple-A pitching so far this season. The duo of Ryan McMahon and Garrett Hampson has struggled to produce offensively at second base to this point for Colorado, so it could only be a matter of time before the club feels compelled to give the 22-year-old Rodgers a look at the big-league level. If they do, Hampson is a candidate to get optioned back to Albuquerque, as he's slashing just .186/.211/.267 over 86 at-bats.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Situated on bench

Marte is not in the lineup Thursday against the Braves.

Marte has started the past 14 games for Arizona, slashing .269/.406/.635 with five homers, a stolen base and an 11:9 BB:K over that stretch. With the 25-year-old Marte situated on the bench Thursday, Wilmer Flores is starting at the keystone and hitting sixth.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

    Mets' Amed Rosario: Hitting second

Rosario is starting at shortstop and hitting second Wednesday against the Padres.

This marks the third time in four games Rosario is situated in the two hole after primarily hitting in the bottom third of the order for the first month of the season. The move is warranted, as the young shortstop is slashing .280/.317/.417 with a pair of homers and four stolen bases through 33 games.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Gets breather in homestand finale

Frazier is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rangers.

He'll sit for the day game after the night game after drawing starts in each of the Pirates' previous nine contests. Frazier should be reinstalled as the team's starting second baseman and leadoff man Thursday in St. Louis, but Starling Marte will serve as the table setter for the final game of the Pirates' homestand.

  • Ketel Marte 2B | ARI

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Slots in as No. 5 hitter

Marte will start at second base and bat fifth Wednesday against the Rays.

Marte has hit either first or second in the order in each of his past five starts, but he'll move into the heart of the lineup to provide the Diamondbacks with an infusion of power as top slugger Christian Walker rests. With nine home runs through Arizona's first 36 contests, Marte is well on his way to surpassing last season's career-high total of 14 long balls.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Returns to lineup

Hernandez is leading off and playing center field against the Braves on Tuesday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.

Hernandez returns to the top of the order against left-hander Max Fried after he made way for Joc Pederson in Monday's game. The 27-year-old is slashing .250/.328/.466 through 116 at-bats this season.

  • Giants' Yangervis Solarte: DFA'd by Giants

Solarte was designated for assignment Tuesday, Kerry Crowley of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

Solarte struggled at the dish through 28 games in the big leagues, batting .205 with a homer and seven RBI. Pat Venditte was also designated for assignment, opening up roster spots for Mac Williamson and Donovan Solano.

  • Amed Rosario 3B | NYY

Mets' Amed Rosario: Heads to bench

Rosario isn't starting Monday's game against the Padres.

Rosario will receive the day off after collecting six hits over his last five games, including two extra-base hits and an RBI. Adeiny Hechavarria is starting at shortstop and batting seventh with Rosario out of the mix.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Bows out of starting nine

Hernandez isn't starting Monday's game against the Braves, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.

Hernandez will get the day off after failing to record a base knock in each of his past two contests (0-for-9). Chris Taylor is starting at the keystone and will bat sixth in Hernandez's stead.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Pirates' Adam Frazier: Registers multi-hit day

Frazier went 2-for-6 with an RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Athletics.

Frazier singled home a run in the 13th inning to cut the deficit to one, and Starling Marte would end the ballgame with a three-run blast to center. Frazier has now pieced together a modest three-game hitting streak, boosting his batting average to .257 through 29 contests in 2019.
