The Rockies optioned Amador to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday.
The 22-year-old was called up by Colorado on Sunday and had a productive few days in the majors, going 5-for-9 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs in three games. Despite the demotion Friday, Amador could soon rejoin the big club with Ryan McMahon being traded to the Yankees.

Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Returns from injured list
The Rockies reinstated Estrada (thumb) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
The infielder hasn't seen the field since July 7 due to a thumb sprain, but he's ready to rejoin Colorado for Friday's series opener in Baltimore. Estrada has a .284/.312/.397 slash line with two homers in 29 games this season and should reclaim the starting job at second base now that he's healthy.

Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Smacks leadoff homer
Marte went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Astros.
Marte led off the bottom of the first with a 420-foot blast off Brandon Walter, his 20th homer of the season and first since July 3. Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Gets pain-killing injection
Gorman received a pain-killing injection in his injured back Monday, MLB.com reports.
Gorman first injured his back prior to the All-Star break and then landed on the 10-day injured list Saturday after he didn't progress as hoped. He will be eligible for activation next week, but the Cardinals will wait to see how Gorman responds to the injection before a timetable for his return comes into focus.

Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Takes swings Wednesday
Estrada (thumb) was spotted taking batting practice prior to the Rockies' game Wednesday against the Cardinals, Kevin Henry of The Denver Gazette reports.
Estrada was placed on the 10-day injured list last Friday due to a right thumb sprain, but because his IL stint was retroactive to a week before that date, he'll be eligible for activation at any time. His ability to take BP on Wednesday suggests a return isn't far away, but Estrada may not be cleared to play during this weekend's series in Baltimore if the Rockies decide he needs to head out on a brief rehab assignment beforehand.

Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: On bench for series finale
McNeil is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
The Angels are having a left-hander (Brock Burke) open the contest, and lefty Jake Eder is a candidate to cover multiple innings in relief, so the left-handed-hitting McNeil will be held out of the lineup for the day game. With McNeil on the bench, Tyrone Taylor will pick up a start in center field.
