Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Tallies two RBI
Rodgers went 2-for-3 with a walk and two RBI on Tuesday against the Dodgers.
Rodgers delivered an infield single to drive in a run in the second inning and followed that up with an RBI sacrifice fly four frames later. He has tallied at least one hit in eight of his last nine games, also recording six RBI and four runs scored in that span. Rodgers continues to steadily improve his line, as he's now hitting .259/.308/.412 across 276 plate appearances on the season.

Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Resumes baseball activities
Pirates director of sports medicine Todd Tomczyk said Wednesday that Gonzales (heel) has been participating in baseball activities while in a walking boot, Justice delos Santos of MLB.com reports.
Gonzales isn't expected to shed his boot for another 7-to-10 days, but it's encouraging that he's been able to swing and play catch while in the boot. It seems likely that the 23-year-old will still be sidelined several more weeks, but he's made encouraging progress so far.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Pirates' Michael Chavis: Could move into short-side platoon
Chavis is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Chavis will take a seat for the Pirates' second straight matchup with a right-handed pitcher, and he looks as though he may be in danger of moving into a short-side platoon role. The lefty-hitting Josh VanMeter will replace him at first base Wednesday, and the rehabbing Yoshi Tsutsugo (back) will be another candidate to poach playing time from Chavis against right-handed pitching once Tsutsugo comes off the injured list.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: On base four times
Marte went 2-for-3 with two walks and two runs scored in Tuesday's 7-6 win over the Padres.
Marte once again served as the designated hitter as he works his way back from a hamstring injury. He was never tested on the basepaths, scoring easily from second base on Buddy Kennedy's double in the seventh inning and walking home from third base when Carson Kelly was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded in the eighth. This was the fifth straight game in which Marte served as the DH, and he's 4-for-15 with eight walks during that stretch.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Pops three-run homer
India went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and one additional run scored in Tuesday's victory over the Cubs.
It's been a tough campaign so far for the Reds' second baseman and leadoff hitter. He missed significant time with a hamstring injury and has mostly struggled at the dish. India's most recent injury scare turned out to be minor -- he was plunked on the hand over the weekend but X-rays were negative. Last year's NL Rookie of the Year now has two homers and one stolen base to go along with a .227/.284/.330 batting line this season.

Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC
Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Tallies three hits in loss
Hoerner went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's loss to the Reds.
All three hits were singles, and Hoerner failed to score any runs or record any RBI. Still, his batting average crept over the .300 mark, as he's now hitting a robust .304. The shortstop is more of a contact hitter at this point, and the 28-46 Cubs don't have a great lineup around him. That limits Hoerner's fantasy value, but he should remain a decent asset due to his regular playing time and ability to rack up hits.

Luis Garcia 1B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Heads to bench
Garcia will sit Tuesday against the Pirates, Mark Zuckerman of MASNSports.com reports.
Garcia was recalled at the start of June and found himself in the lineup for 25 straight games. His .337/.347/.500 line in those games represents a major improvement over the .254/.285/.395 line he managed in 110 games over the previous two years, though it does come with a fair amount of good fortune in the form of a .397 BABIP. Alcides Escobar will be the shortstop Tuesday.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Ready to go Tuesday
India (hand) will start at second base and bat leadoff in Tuesday's game against the Cubs.
India was withheld from the starting nine for Sunday's 10-3 win over the Giants after he was hit by a pitch in his right hand a night earlier, but the day out of the lineup coupled with Monday's off day looks as though it provided sufficient time for the reigning National League Rookie of the Year to move past the injury. Since he returned from the injured list June 13 after battling a strained right hamstring, India is hitting .128 with a home run and a stolen base over 10 games.

Luis Guillorme 3B | HOU
Mets' Luis Guillorme: Not starting Tuesday
Guillorme will sit Tuesday against Houston.
Guillorme sits after making five straight starts at second base, a stretch in which he recorded just three hits. Jeff McNeil returns from a hamstring injury to start at the keystone.
-
Jeff McNeil 2B | ATH
Mets' Jeff McNeil: Returns to lineup
McNeil (hamstring) will bat eighth and play second base Tuesday against the Astros.
McNeil hasn't played in over a week due to right hamstring tightness, but he managed to avoid a trip to the injured list. He'll carry an eight-game hitting streak from prior to the injury into Tuesday's contest.
