  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

    Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting Saturday

Turang isn't starting Saturday against the Reds.

Turang is just 1-for-36 across his last 12 games, putting him at serious risk of losing reps to the hotter bats of Owen Miller and Andruw Monasterio. Miller will start at second base in Turang's place, moving Brian Anderson to third base and allowing Blake Perkins to start in right field.

  • Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM

Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Out against lefty

Bae isn't starting Saturday against St. Louis, Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com reports.

As southpaw Jordan Montgomery prepares to start Saturday for the Cards, the left-handed bat of Bae will begin the game in the dugout. Rodolfo Castro will take Bae's place at second base and bat fifth.

  • Rockies' Harold Castro: Out against lefty

Castro isn't in the Rockies' lineup Saturday against Kansas City.

With Daniel Lynch set to take the mound for the Royals on Saturday, the left-handed batting Castro will begin the game in the dugout. Alan Trejo will take over at second base and bat eighth.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Hits go-ahead homer in third

India went 1-for-3 with two HBP and a two-run home run in Friday's 5-4 loss to Milwaukee.

India hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the third to give the Reds a 3-2 lead, marking his sixth long ball of the season. The 2018 first-round pick won NL Rookie of the Year in 2021, but he struggled last year. He's back to producing like he did as a rookie, slashing .278/.368/.431 across 57 appearances, and has been slugging the ball better of late with three home runs and a double over his past six games (25 at-bats).

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Socks sixth homer

Donovan went 1-for-4 with a walk and a two-run home run in Friday's 7-5 loss to the Pirates.

He opened the scoring on the night by taking Roansy Contreras deep in the third inning for his sixth homer of the year. Donovan has been holding down an everyday role due to multiple injuries in the Cardinals' outfield, and while he got his June off to a quick start, the grind took its toll in May -- the 26-year-old finished the month with a .228/.358/.354 slash line.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | CHW

    Diamondbacks' Josh Rojas: Breather Friday

Rojas is not in the starting lineup Friday versus Atlanta.

Rojas will take a seat after he went 0-for-10 with two walks, a run scored and four strikeouts while starting all three games of a series with the Rockies. Emmanuel Rivera will draw the start at third base and bat sixth in the series opener with Atlanta.

  • Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Batting leadoff

Donovan is starting in left field and batting leadoff Friday in Pittsburgh, John Denton of MLB.com reports.

With Lars Nootbaar (back) landing on the injured list, Donovan could be the Cardinals' regular leadoff man against right-handers for a bit. He's sporting a .253/.344/.370 slash line with five home runs and four stolen bases on the season.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Sitting versus lefty

Turang is absent from the lineup for Friday's game in Cincinnati.

With southpaw Brandon Williamson on the hill for the Reds, the left-handed hitting Turang will begin this one on the bench. Owen Miller and Andruw Monasterio will form the Brew Crew's double-play combo.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Marlins' Luis Arraez: In lineup Friday

Arraez (leg) is starting Friday against the Athletics, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Arraez was pulled from Thursday's game against San Diego due to an apparent leg injury, but whatever was bothering him won't cause him to miss any games. He'll start at second base and bat leadoff Friday as he looks to extend a seven-game hitting streak.

  • Mark Mathias 2B | CIN

Pirates' Mark Mathias: Back up from Triple-A

Mathis was recalled from Triple-A Indianapolis on Friday.

He's taking the roster spot vacated by Robert Stephenson, who was traded to the Rays. Mathias has a .695 OPS in 15 games with the Pirates this season while seeing action at second base and right field.
