Luis Garcia 2B | WAS
Nationals' Luis Garcia: Getting Sunday off
Garcia is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Phillies.
The lefty-hitting Garcia typically plays regularly against both right- and left-handed pitching, but because he had started each of the last 16 games along with the fact that the Phillies are bringing southpaw Ranger Suarez to the hill, the Nationals likely viewed Sunday's contest as an optimal time to give the infielder a breather. Michael Chavis will check in for Garcia at the keystone.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Rejoins lineup as DH
Donovan (arm) is batting leadoff as the designated hitter Sunday against the Yankees, Lynn Worthy of the St. Louis Post-Dispatchreports.
The 26-year-old didn't make an appearance during Saturday's doubleheader while contending with right arm soreness, but he'll return to the lineup for Sunday's series finale. Donovan is coming off a strong June, during which he had a .307/.402/.443 slash line with three doubles, three home runs, 11 RBI and 12 runs in 23 games.

Ji-Hwan Bae 2B | NYM
Pirates' Ji Hwan Bae: Lands on injured list
Bae (ankle) was placed on the 10-day injured list Sunday.
The 24-year-old went 0-for-2 with a walk and a run Saturday before being lifted with an apparent left ankle injury, per Kevin Gorman of TribLive.com, and he'll now be sidelined through at least the All-Star break. Rodolfo Castro and Tucupita Marcano are likely to be the main beneficiaries of playing time in Bae's absence.

Jonathan India 2B | KC
Reds' Jonathan India: Crushes grand slam in loss
India went 1-for-3 with a solo homer and four RBI in Saturday's loss to the Padres.
India came up to the plate with two outs and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh and crushed a 430-foot grand slam to center field to bring the Reds back within five runs. The second baseman has been struggling at the plate as of late and came into Saturday's contest hitting just .121 over his last nine games. He's now hit in two straight but hasn't recorded a multi-hit game since June 14 against the Royals.

Ozzie Albies 2B | ATL
Braves' Ozzie Albies: Mashes 19th homer
Albies went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 7-0 win over the Marlins.
The second baseman went back-to-back with Ronald Acuna to lead off the game, kicking off yet another early offensive eruption for Atlanta. Albies has been rolling over the last month, and through his last 24 games he's slashing .295/.352/.611 with eight of his 19 homers and five of his six steals on the season to go along with 20 runs and 21 RBI.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Leads off against lefty
Marte batted leadoff and went 1-for-5 in Saturday's 3-1 win over the Angels.
The Diamondbacks hadn't seen a left-handed starter in nearly two weeks, and in the previous instance Geraldo Perdomo was elevated to leadoff. It was unclear if Perdomo would handle the role full time, but it appears Marte has retained the spot atop the order against lefties as he'd been doing all season.

Nolan Gorman 2B | STL
Cardinals' Nolan Gorman: Clubs homer in Game 1
Gorman went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run, a walk and an additional run scored in an 11-4 win over the Yankees in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.
Gorman padded the lead with a fourth-inning blast in the matinee game. The infielder didn't repeat his success in the nightcap, going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts. Prior to Saturday, he'd gone seven contests without striking out multiple times, but he's now striking out at a 30.2 percent clip. He struggled in June and now owns a .235/.319/.466 slash line with 16 homers, 49 RBI, 31 runs scored and four stolen bases over 73 contests this season.

Brendan Rodgers 2B | BOS
Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Participates in batting practice
Rodgers (shoulder) participating in batting practice Saturday, Manny Randhawa of MLB.com reports.
Rodgers began hitting drills in mid-June, though that was with softer practice balls. After the All-Star break, he is expected to report to the Rockies' spring training facility to continue to ramp up his activity. If all goes well, Rodgers hopes to return at some point in August.

Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Out again
Donovan (arm) remains out for the second game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Yankees.
Donovan was scratched from Friday's lineup with arm soreness -- the game was ultimately postponed -- and has missed both games of Saturday's doubleheader. The team announced he wouldn't be able to field a position for a few days, though he was expected to be available to serve as the designated hitter.

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Heads to bench
Gonzales will sit Saturday against MIlwaukee.
Gonzales sits for the second time in eight games since getting called up for the first time last week. He's managed three extra-base hits, including one homer, but he's also striking out at a 32.0 percent clip. Ji Hwan Bae and Tucupita Marcano will be the middle infielders Saturday.
