  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Still out Sunday

Rodgers (hamstring) is not in Sunday's lineup against the Dodgers.

Rodgers appeared off the bench in Saturday's game after being scratched from the lineup, but he'll remain out of the starting nine in the finale. Aaron Schunk will start at second base and bat eighth.

  • Phillies' Buddy Kennedy: Back in majors

Kennedy was recalled from the Phillies' spring training complex Sunday.

He is not in Sunday's lineup against the Nationals, but Kennedy will serve as a capable righty bench bat with Austin Hays (back) banged up. Kennedy, who turns 26 next week, has played sparingly in the majors and slashed .294/.400/.500 with 10 home runs in 300 plate appearances for Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

  • Nick Yorke 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Yorke: Pops second career homer

Yorke went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run Saturday against the Yankees.

Yorke has started 10 of 12 games since making his big-league debut, and he popped his second career home run Saturday. Yorke also has two steals, though his 28.9 percent strikeout rate is a concern. He should be in consideration for a roster spot to begin the 2025 campaign.

  • Nick Gonzales 2B | PIT

Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Homers in two straight

Gonzales went 1-for-4 with a solo home run Saturday against the Yankees.

Gonzales took Luis Gil yard to record a home run in his second consecutive game, his only two long balls since returning from the injured list Aug. 26. He's still had an impressive close to the regular season, maintaining a .308 batting average with 10 RBI and 13 runs scored to go along with a 14.8 percent strikeout rate in his last 28 appearances. While not a prolific power hitter, Gonzales should be locked into a starting role for the Pirates in 2025.

  • Rockies' Brendan Rodgers: Hamstring issues return

Rodgers was scratched from the lineup ahead of Saturday's game versus the Dodgers due to left hamstring soreness.

Rodgers missed two games earlier in the week due to left hamstring problems before returning to action Friday, and his injury will now cause him to sit down once again. Aaron Schunk will fill in as Colorado's second baseman and may be in line for another start Sunday if Rodgers is unable to play in the season finale.

  • Brice Turang 2B | MIL

Brewers' Brice Turang: Getting rest against lefty

Turang isn't in the Brewers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Mets.

The Brewers will match up against left-hander Jose Quintana, and the lefty-hitting Turang will take a seat for the team's penultimate regular-season game. Andruw Monasterio will replace him at second base and bat ninth.

  • Brett Wisely 2B | ATL

Giants' Brett Wisely: Riding pine Saturday

Wisely isn't in the Giants' lineup Saturday versus St. Louis, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wisely will get a chance to catch his breath Saturday after making three consecutive starts at second base. Casey Schmitt will fill in at the keystone and bat eighth in Wisely's stead.

  • Otto Lopez SS | MIA

Marlins' Otto Lopez: Not starting Saturday

Lopez isn't in the Marlins' lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

Although Lopez has gone 8-for-18 and scored five runs during his five-game hitting streak, the Marlins will sit him down Saturday while Javier Sanoja picks up a start at the keystone.

  • Nico Hoerner 2B | CHC

Cubs' Nico Hoerner: Collects two hits, scores Friday

Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a double and a run scored in Friday's 1-0 win over the Reds.

Hoerner helped manufacture the only run of the contest when he doubled to lead off the bottom of the fifth, then got bunted over to third before coming home on a sacrifice fly. The speedy infielder has three straight multi-hit performances, and over his last 10 games, he's slashing a sizzling .486/.526/.743 with two home runs, five RBI and nine runs scored.

  • Reds' Jonathan India: Logs two hits in return

India started at second base and went 2-for-3 in Friday's 1-0 loss to the Cubs.

India returned to the lineup after missing one game due to a head injury. He was back in his normal roles as Cincinnati's second baseman and leadoff batter.
