Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Moves to injured list
Altuve (hamstring) was placed on the 10-day injured list Saturday, Julia Morales of AT&T SportsNet Southwest reports.
Altuve suffered the left hamstring strain in Friday's game and manager A.J. Hinch indicated earlier Saturday that a trip to the IL was likely. The strain was described as "slight," so the 29-year-old may be able to avoid an extended stay on the shelf. Aledmys Diaz -- who hit a grand slam Saturday night -- figures to be the primary fill-in at second base for the Astros in his absence.

Ronny Rodriguez 2B | DET
Tigers' Ronny Rodriguez: Homers twice in win
Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with a walk and a pair of solo homers in the first game of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Rodriguez hit his fourth homer of the season in the second inning against Michael Pineda. He got Pineda again for his fifth of the year in the fourth inning. He's now hitting .323/.368/.742 in 68 plate appearances.

Jorge Polanco 1B | NYM
Twins' Jorge Polanco: Takes seat for Game 2
Polanco is not in the lineup for Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Tigers.
Polanco started the last 18 games at shortstop for the Twins, with his other game on the bench also coming during a doubleheader. The 25-year-old went 1-for-5 with a pair of strikeouts in Saturday's Game 1 loss. Ehire Adrianza enters the starting lineup and will bat eighth in his absence.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Injured list trip likely
Altuve (hamstring) is likely to require a trip to the injured list, Chandler Rome of the Houston Chronicle reports.
Manager A.J. Hinch described Altuve's injury as a "slight strain" but also said he was "not optimistic" that the second baseman would avoid a trip to the IL. Aledmys Diaz gets the start at second base Saturday against the Rangers and would likely see several more starts should Altuve indeed need some more time off.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: In lineup Saturday
Torres (elbow) is in the lineup, hitting fifth and playing shortstop against the Rays on Saturday, Pete Caldera of The Bergen Record reports.
Torres was drilled by a pitch in the elbow Friday, leaving his status for this game up in the air, but he appears to be fine as he's slotted back in for Saturday's contest with Tampa Bay. Owners can breathe a sigh of relief at the status of the talented 22-year-old, who is slashing .280/.318/.448 through 143 at-bats so far this season.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Heads to bench
Lowe is not starting Saturday against the Yankees, Steve Carney of Sports Radio 620 WDAE reports.
Lowe sits after starting 10 straight games. He hit .310 with a pair of homers over that stretch but also struck out 37.8 percent of the time. Daniel Robertson gets the start at second base.

Gordon Beckham 2B | SEA
Tigers' Gordon Beckham: Leading off in Game 1
Beckham is starting at third base and batting leadoff in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader against the Twins.
Beckham will lead off for the first time all season as the Tigers give the struggling Jeimer Candelario a breather in the first game Saturday. The 32-year-old Beckham is slashing .245/.362/.531 with three home runs, four RBI and eight runs scored in 18 games this year.

Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Blue Jays' Brandon Drury: Sitting out second straight
Drury is not in the lineup Saturday for the second day in a row.
Drury had been seeing time in the outfield since Vladimir Guerrero joined the roster in late April, but he has now been withheld from those duties in four straight games and from the lineup altogether in two straight. With Drury hitting just .208 on the season, he could continue playing irregularly for the time being.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Slows down at plate
Chavis went 0-for-5 with an RBI and two strikeouts in Friday's 14-1 win over the Mariners.
Chavis has cooled off after an explosive debut. Since his two-home-run game May 4, Chavis has gone hitless in 19 plate appearances with seven strikeouts, three walks, one run and one RBI. This is the first test of adversity for the 23-year-old since being called up, so it will be interesting to see how he responds.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Status for Saturday in jeopardy
Torres' status for Saturday's game against the Rays is unclear after he was struck by a pitch on his right elbow Friday night, Brendan Kuty of The Newark Star-Ledger reports.
Torres didn't come out of the ballgame after being drilled by a pitch in the eighth inning, but manager Aaron Boone may elect to give his second baseman the day off, depending on how the swelling looks Saturday morning. "I think it was a little emotional for him with what he's gone through with elbow stuff in the past," stated Boone.
