Polanco provided the only runs of the game with his 391-foot blast off Mike Clevinger in the third inning. The 26-year-old has been hot over the past month, going 35-for-107 (.327) with five home runs since Aug. 15. He now sports a .298/.360/.492 slash line with 76 RBI over 583 at-bats this season.

He has been out for almost a week with left intercostal tightness. Forsythe likely would have been placed on the injured list were it not for expanded rosters, so it's unclear if he is day-to-day or a little worse than that.

Semien went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run, a walk and two runs overall in a win over the Rangers on Friday.
Semien put a 414-foot exclamation point on the Athletics' 14-run barrage with his ninth-inning blast, which came with Sheldon Neuse aboard and qualified as Semien's career-best 29th homer. The 28-year-old is saving his best for last in what has already been a breakout season, with Friday's production pushing his September average to .375 (18-for-48) with four doubles, one triple, four home runs, 10 RBI, five walks, three stolen bases and 15 runs.

Mendick went 2-for-5 with an RBI in Friday's 9-7 win over the Mariners.
Mendick, who got the start at second base for the resting Yolmer Sanchez, has seven hits in 21 at-bats while getting spotty playing time since being added to the roster for the month of September. The 25-year-old infielder will fill in at three infield spots whenever manager Rick Renteria wants to give Sanchez, shortstop Tim Anderson or third baseman Yoan Moncada a day off.

Lowe (quadriceps) is expected to be sent to the instructional league Tuesday to see more at-bats, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Lowe felt some fatigue in his leg during Thursday's sim game, but assuming everything goes as planned over the next few days, he'll head to the instructional league Tuesday with the hope of returning to the big leagues before the regular season comes to an end. It's unknown how many at-bats he'll need to see before being activated from the 60-day injured list.

Polanco (mouth) is starting at shortstop and batting third Friday against the Indians, Do-Hyoung Park of MLB.com reports.
Polaco was held out of Thursday's action due to a dental issue, but he's been cleared to return for Friday's series opener. He's batting .268 with a home run, six RBI and 10 strikeouts over his last 10 matchups.
