Luis Rengifo 3B | MIL
Angels' Luis Rengifo: Nearing return
Rengifo (hamstring) is close to being game ready, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
He has not played yet this season due to a hamstring issue but it sounds like we could see him debut sometime this week. Andrelton Simmons is dealing with an ankle injury, so if he is still ailing when Rengifo returns, there could be starts available at shortstop.

Nicky Lopez 3B | CHC
Royals' Nicky Lopez: Sitting again Monday
Lopez isn't in the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.
Lopez will play a bench role once again Monday after going 1-for-6 with two walks and a strikeout over appearances in the first three games. Whit Merrifield will shift to second base with Brett Phillips starting in center field.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Starts for second straight
Kemp will bat ninth and play second base Monday against the Angels.
Kemp entered the season as part of a presumed platoon with Franklin Barreto at second base, though it was Chad Pinder who started at the position against both a lefty and a righty in the first two games of the year. Kemp has now gotten the nod against two straight righties, so it's possible he's in for a significant role this season after all. It will likely take a few more games before the true playing-time split at the position becomes clear.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Continues torrid start
Lowe went 3-for-5 with an RBI single and two doubles in an extra-inning win over the Blue Jays on Sunday.
A day after lacing a two-run triple, Lowe was back to putting good wood on the ball throughout Sunday's game. His only non extra-base hit of the day, a seventh-inning single to shallow right, accounted for his one RBI and knotted the game at 4-4. After an 0-for-2 tally on Opening Night, Lowe went 5-for-9 over the last two games of the series against Toronto.

Marcus Semien 2B | NYM
Athletics' Marcus Semien: Multiple hits out of top of order
Semien went 2-for-4 with a run in a win over the Angels on Sunday.
The veteran shortstop has reached safely in each of the first three games of the season, and he's hit in two straight. Semien has also parlayed his four instances on the base paths into three runs thanks to some timely hitting behind him, leading to a relatively productive fantasy start in 2020.

Michael Chavis 2B | CIN
Red Sox's Michael Chavis: In lineup against lefty
Chavis started at first base and went 0-for-3 in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Orioles.
Chavis got the nod at first base for the second time in three games due to the O's starting left-handers; Red Sox manager Ron Roenicke is sitting Mitch Moreland against southpaws. Against right-handers, Chavis and Jose Peraza are expected to share second base, although it was Peraza who started Saturday against a righty.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Rangers' Elvis Andrus: Moves to leadoff
Andrus batted leadoff and went 1-for-4 in Sunday's 5-2 loss to the Rockies.
Andrus hit out of the two-hole the first two games before deployed as the leadoff batter Sunday. Sunday's single was his first hit of the season; Andrus is 1-for-10 with three walks through the first three games. The Rangers are closely watching Andrus, who has experienced declining production the previous two seasons. General manager Jon Daniels indicated last September that Andrus needs to improve on his sub-.700 OPS of 2018 and 2019.

Danny Mendick 3B | CHW
White Sox's Danny Mendick: Makes first appearance
Mendick started at third base and went 0-for-3 with a walk in Sunday's 14-2 loss to Minnesota.
Mendick, a utility infielder, filled in for a resting Yoan Moncada and later moved to second base when Leury Garcia was needed in the outfield after Eloy Jimenez left with light-headedness. If Garcia is needed for outfield duty, Mendick could find a stream of at-bats at second base.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Drives in two
Torres went 3-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and one run scored Sunday against the Nationals.
Torres opened the scoring for the Yankees with a solo home run in the seventh inning, his first of the season. One frame later, he roped a single into left field to drive in the game-winning run. Torres had entered the contest hitless in six at-bats for the season, but he rebounded for a productive close to the team's opening series.

Harold Castro 2B | KC
Tigers' Harold Castro: Starting Sunday
Castro is starting at third base and batting sixth in Sunday's game against the Reds.
The versatile 26-year-old will be making his first start of the season. Last year, Castro saw time at seven different positions in the field, including 10 games at third base. He put together a .291/.305/.384 slash line and figures to get plenty of playing time in 2020 if he continues to hit well.
