Enrique Hernandez SS | LAD
Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Minimum-length absence expected
Hernandez (hamstring) is expected to return from the injured list when first eligible, Julian McWilliams of The Boston Globe reports.
Hernandez left Thursday's game against the Tigers with right hamstring tightness and landed on the injured list the next day. He'll be able to return next Tuesday.

Luis Arraez 2B | SF
Twins' Luis Arraez: Returns from concussion
Arraez was activated off the seven-day concussion injured list Tuesday, Brandon Warne of Access Twins reports.
Arraez will wind up missing the minimum seven days -- an unsurprising result, as his symptoms were reportedly gone by Friday. He's hit for his usual high average this season and has added a 14.0 percent walk rate, giving him a .291/.398/.372 line through 25 games. Nick Gordon was optioned in a corresponding move.

Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Not starting against lefty
Lowe will sit against lefty Jordan Montgomery and the Yankees on Tuesday, Adam Berry of MLB.com reports.
Lowe isn't being strictly platooned but there are signs that his playing time against lefties may be slipping. He's now been on the bench against three of the last four southpaws the Rays have faced after sitting against just three of the first 10. Mike Brosseau will handle second base Tuesday.

Tony Kemp 2B | MIN
Athletics' Tony Kemp: Some improvement at plate
Kemp is hitting .250 (4-for-16) with a double, an RBI, two walks and four runs over seven May games.
Kemp has reached safely in four of the five starts he's drawn during that span, and he's sporting an impressive .368 on-base percentage for the season thanks in large part to a 17.2 percent walk rate. However, Kemp's season-plus long-ball drought continues, contributing to an abysmal .261 slugging percentage. The 29-year-old has exclusively operated out of the bottom third of the order, making nearly as many appearances in left field (10) as at second base (11).

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Laces rare triple in loss
Andrus went 1-for-4 with a triple in a loss to the Rays on Sunday.
Andrus' first three-bagger since 2019 served to extend his modest hitting streak to three games and qualified as his second extra-base hit in as many contests. Despite the occasional flashes at the plate, the veteran's season-plus slump continues in full force, as he's still slashing just .158/.203/.211 and sports a career-high 18.7 percent strikeout rate over 123 plate appearances.

Dilson Herrera 2B | CIN
Blue Jays' Dilson Herrera: Finds work with Jays
Herrera signed a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on April 28, MiLB.com reports.
Toronto assigned Herrera to Triple-A Buffalo prior to the start of the minor-league season last week, and he's proceeded to go 2-for-12 with five total bases over his first three games with the affiliate. The 27-year-old Herrera has previously seen action in the big leagues over parts of four seasons with the Mets, Reds and Orioles, producing a .199/.290/.386 career slash line.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Snaps out of funk
Altuve went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Sunday's 7-4 win over the Blue Jays.
Altuve smashed his third home run of the season in the fourth inning, the second blast in the last four games for the second baseman. He's hit safely in five consecutive games, going 9-for-22 during that run and reversing a 2-for-29 slide that left him batting .247.

Danny Mendick 3B | CHW
White Sox's Danny Mendick: Makes second start in RF
Mendick went 1-for-4 with an RBI single in Sunday's 9-3 win over the Royals.
Mendick, an infielder by trade, started in right field for a second straight day and knocked in three runs in the weekend games. Adam Eaton, the White Sox's primary right fielder, took a seat against two left-handers. It's unclear if there will be a platoon going forward, or if manager Tony La Russa was being overly cautious with Eaton, who was recently nagged by knee and hamstring issues. With an off-day Monday, Eaton will have three full days of rest before Chicago kicks off a series Tuesday at home against the Twins.

Gleyber Torres 2B | DET
Yankees' Gleyber Torres: Hits first homer of 2021
Torres went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a strikeout in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Nationals.
Torres hit a walkoff single in Saturday's win over Washington, and he blasted his first home run of the season in the sixth inning Sunday. The 24-year-old hasn't displayed much power early in the season, as he's slashing .242/.336/.308 with a homer, 12 runs and 10 RBI in 32 games.

Whit Merrifield 2B | ATL
Royals' Whit Merrifield: Doubles, steals base
Merrifield went 2-for-3 with a double, an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Sunday's 9-3 loss to the White Sox.
Merrifield doubled and came around to score the game's first run in the first inning. He then singled and swiped his league-leading 11th base of the season. The 32-year-old is slashing .271/.327/.419 this season and has a hit in eight of nine games to begin May.
