    Arroyo blasted a grand slam as a pinch hitter in Boston's 10-8 win over the Braves on Wednesday.

    Arroyo didn't start the contest, but he was brought in to pinch hit for Danny Santana with the bases loaded and Boston trailing by one in the seventh inning. He came through in a big way, launching a massive 467-foot blast to left field to clear the bases and propel the Red Sox to a the win. Arroyo now has four homers and 14 RBI across 13 games in June.

    Arroyo recently drew eight consecutive starts at second base, but he'll now retreat to the bench for a second straight game. Marwin Gonzalez will start at the keystone and lead off.

    Hernandez isn't starting Wednesday's game against Atlanta, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

    Hernandez had returned to the leadoff spot in each of the last six games and went 4-for-25 with three doubles, three runs, three RBI and seven strikeouts during that time. Alex Verdugo will shift to center field while J.D. Martinez plays left field in a National League park.

    Red Sox's Michael Chavis: Sent back to minors

    The Red Sox optioned Chavis to Triple-A Worcester on Wednesday, Chris Cotillo of The Springfield Republican reports.

    Boston was in need of an extra arm out of the bullpen after starter Eduardo Rodriguez was able to give Boston only four innings in Tuesday's 10-8 win over Atlanta, so Chavis will cede his spot on the active roster to reliever Yacksel Rios. Chavis didn't appear off the bench for Boston during his two-day stint with the club.

    Royals' Nicky Lopez: Likely to lose work to Mondesi

    Lopez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers, Anne Rogers of MLB.com reports.

    After starting at shortstop in 10 of the Royals' first 14 games of June while slashing a respectable .267/.389/.300, Lopez's time as an everyday player looks to be over. Adalberto Mondesi (hamstring) was limited to a bench role Tuesday after being reinstated from the injured list, but he'll handle shortstop duties Wednesday and should be able to play the position on a regular basis moving forward. Lopez will likely operate as the top backup for both Mondesi and Whit Merrifield in the middle infield.

    Athletics' Elvis Andrus: Surge continues in win

    Andrus went 2-for-4 with a two-run double and another two-bagger in a win over the Angels on Tuesday.

    The veteran has seemingly regained his confidence at the plate after a season-plus of considerable struggles, with Tuesday's multi-hit effort extending his on-base streak to nine games and pushing his June slash line to an impressive .304/.373/.457 across 13 games. Andrus has laced seven doubles during that stretch alone, but he remains without a home run through 231 plate appearances on the season.

  • Jose Altuve 2B | HOU

    Astros' Jose Altuve: Rescues team in 10th

    Altuve went 2-for-5 with a grand slam home run in Tuesday's 6-3 extra-inning win over Texas.

    Altuve muscled up and took Demarcus Evans deep in the bottom of the 10th inning to give Houston a walkoff win. It was the seventh blast in the last 14 contests for the second baseman.

    Indians' Amed Rosario: Three hits in win

    Rosario went 3-for-5 with an RBI single, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-2 win over Baltimore.

    Rosario was involved in Cleveland's five-run rally in the fourth inning. He contributed an RBI single and scored on a two-run double by Eddie Rosario. The shortstop also picked up his third stolen base in 11 games in June. He's become a strong presence in the No. 2 spot in the order, hitting safely in 13 of his last 15 contests. For the year, Rosario is slashing .284/.339/.408 with four home runs, seven steals, 20 RBI and 33 runs scored across 218 plate appearances.

    Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Hits bench

    Biggio is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Yankees.

    Biggio started four games in a row after returning from a neck injury Friday. He'll sit against southpaw Jordan Montgomery on Tuesday while Santiago Espinal gets a start at third base.
