  • Xavier Edwards 2B | MIA

Rays' Xavier Edwards: Debuts at Durham

Edwards (shoulder) has gone 3-for-12 with a double, a walk, a stolen base and two runs in three games for Triple-A Durham since being reinstated from Double-A Montgomery's 7-day injured list Tuesday and getting transferred to the Rays' top affiliate.

Coming out of spring training, Edwards was assigned to Double-A Montgomery and placed on the IL due to a shoulder impingement, but he ended up making his 2022 debut at Triple-A, presumably because Durham's infield depth has been tested with Taylor Walls, Isaac Paredes and Vidal Brujan all having been recently moved up to the big-league roster. In addition to the aforementioned three players, the Rays also have another middle-infield prospect in Jonathan Aranda at Triple-A, and since he possesses a 40-man roster spot, he'll likely be in line for a promotion to the big leagues before Edwards, who isn't on the 40-man roster.

  • Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM

Rangers' Andy Ibanez: Posts three-hit day

Ibanez started at designated hitter and went 3-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Saturday's 11-4 win over the Athletics.

Fresh off a game-winning two-run single as a pinch hitter Friday, Ibanez kept the momentum going with his first three-hit game of the season. He'd been mired in a deep funk, going 2-for-43 in the 15 games prior to Friday's heroics.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Finally goes yard

Semien went 1-for-4 with two walks, a home run, a second run scored and five RBI in Saturday's 11-4 win over the A's.

It took 44 games, but Semien finally connected on his first homer as a Ranger as he launched a fifth-inning grand slam off Jacob Lemoine. The 31-year-old seemed to be feeling the pressure of his huge contract to begin the season, but Semien's looked more like his usual self lately, batting .317 (13-for-41) over the last 10 games with three steals, five runs and eight RBI.

  • Tigers' Harold Castro: Knocks three hits in loss

Castro went 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored in Saturday's 8-1 loss to the Guardians.

Castro was one of two Tigers to post multiple hits, and he was the only one with an extra-base knock in the contest. The 28-year-old infielder has three multi-hit games in his last seven. For the season, he's maintained a solid .325/.338/.519 slash line with three home runs, eight RBI, 11 runs scored, a triple and four doubles in 80 plate appearances. He's yet to attempt a stolen base.

  • Luis Arraez 2B | SF

Twins' Luis Arraez: Extends hit streak to eight games

Arraez went 3-for-5 with a run in Saturday's 7-3 loss to the Royals.

Arraez extended his hit streak to eight straight games Saturday, ripping three singles and scoring a run in the contest. During the streak, the 25-year-old has produced six multi-hit efforts and raised his average from .313 to .359. His .455 on-base percentage over 131 at-bats leads the big-leagues.

  • Angels' Jeremiah Jackson: Returns from injured list

Jackson (oblique) was activated from the minor-league injured list Thursday.

Jackson missed over six weeks while dealing with an oblique strain, and he's played in only four contests so far this season. Since returning from the injury, the 22-year-old has gone 0-for-4 with two walks, three strikeouts, two runs and a stolen base across two games.

  • Danny Mendick 3B | CHW

White Sox's Danny Mendick: Back with big-league squad

Mendick was recalled from Triple-A Charlotte on Saturday.

Mendick owns a career .237/.297/.348 slash line in 366 major-league plate appearances, 26 of which have come this season. He'll give the White Sox an additional option in the infield for now, though considering that it was Dallas Keuchel who was designated for assignment in a corresponding move, it's possible Mendick returns to the minors in a few days when the White Sox add another pitcher.

  • Amed Rosario SS | NYY

Guardians' Amed Rosario: Not starting Saturday

Rosario isn't starting Saturday against the Tigers.

Rosario was initially slated to get a day off Friday before the game was postponed, so he'll instead take a seat Saturday. Steven Kwan will start in left field while Oscar Gonzalez takes over in right.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Not starting Saturday

Kemp isn't starting Saturday against the Rangers.

Kemp went just 1-for-4 with a run and two strikeouts Friday, and he'll be out of the lineup for the third time in the last four games. Sheldon Neuse will start at second base while Chad Pinder takes over in left field.

  • Vidal Brujan 2B | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Not starting Saturday

Brujan isn't starting Saturday against the Yankees, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Brujan started the last three games and went 2-for-9 with three strikeouts. Taylor Walls will take over at the keystone while Brett Phillips enters the lineup in right field.
