  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Swipes bag, scores twice

Gimenez went 1-for-4 with a hit by pitch, a stolen base and a pair of runs scored in Thursday's 4-3 extra-inning win over the Tigers.

Gimenez has hit safely in his last five games, and he's posted three steals in that span while going 8-for-20 (.400) at the plate. The second baseman is up to 14 steals in 16 tries this season. He's maintained an excellent .304/.367/.482 slash line with 12 home runs, 50 RBI, 45 runs scored, 18 doubles and two triples through 99 contests, making him a solid source of both speed and power.

  • Sam Haggerty LF | TEX

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Fourth homer in victory

Haggerty went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a win over the Yankees on Wednesday.

Haggerty's blistering bat continued to produce Wednesday, as he opened the scoring with a 395-foot shot to left field in the sixth inning. The 28-year-old's play partly influenced the decision to send Kyle Lewis to Triple-A Tacoma on Wednesday, as Haggerty has significantly outperformed his teammate at the plate and is capable of playing all three outfield positions.

  • Red Sox's Enrique Hernandez: Makes rehab appearance

Hernandez (hip) started in center field and went 1-for-2 with Double-A Portland on Wednesday.

Hernandez kicked off a rehab assignment with the Sea Dogs and played five innings in the field. An earlier rehab stint was paused after one outing, so the Red Sox will want to thoroughly evaluate the outfielder this time around. He hasn't played in the majors since June 7, which suggests the rehab stint could go into next week. The Red Sox will at least want to see him play nine innings and on back-to-back days.

  • Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR

Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Two hits, stolen base in win

Gimenez went 2-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's win over the Tigers.

Gimenez singled, stole second base and came around to score in the top of the second frame before later adding another base knock in the next inning. The stolen base was his 13th of the year and he has now logged three multi-hit performances in his last four games. Since the beginning of August, Gimenez is batting .400 with two doubles, five runs, an RBI and five stolen bases over eight games.

  • Tony Kemp 2B | MIN

Athletics' Tony Kemp: Drives in three

Kemp went 2-for-4 with two doubles, a walk and three RBI Wednesday against the Angels.

Kemp was one of the few sources of offense for the Athletics on Wednesday, as he came to the plate with the bases loaded in the seventh inning and managed a bases-clearing double. Since the All-Star break, Kemp has hit .283 with 11 RBI and five runs scored across 52 plate appearances. He should remain a regular in Oakland's lineup against right-handed pitching, but overall he has just a 77 wRC+ and .269 wOBA in 101 games for the season.

  • Luis Rengifo 2B | MIL

Angels' Luis Rengifo: Slugs three-run homer

Rengifo went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run Wednesday against the Athletics.

Rengifo took Sam Moll yard in the sixth inning for his sixth homer of the season. He has quietly been productive since July 10, homering twice with 14 RBI and 11 runs scored in 26 games. For the season, Rengifo has posted a respectable 105 wRC+ and .316 wOBA across 300 plate appearances.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Intriguing returns in Double-A

Diaz is hitting .309/.354/.500 with 14 home runs and a 22:60 BB:K through 89 games for Double-A Midland this season.

There was some concern about whether he would be able to sustain his productivity in High-A last year (.821 OPS) at a higher level of baseball, but he's done that and more. The power (40 extra-base hits) and the contact ability (15.6 percent strikeout rate) make Diaz an exciting hitting prospect despite his defensive limitations. Previously a third baseman by trade, Diaz has appeared there just seven times this year, as he's mostly played first base or served as the DH.

  • Cavan Biggio RF | HOU

Blue Jays' Cavan Biggio: Sits after four straight starts

Biggio is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

After starting each of the last four games -- two at first base and two at second base -- Biggio will head to the bench as the Blue Jays go with Vladimir Guerrero and Santiago Espinal at those respective positions. Biggio has gotten off to a nice start to August with an .816 OPS through six contests, and he could be able to maintain a part-time role for the Blue Jays until George Springer's (elbow) return from the injured list pushes Whit Merrifield to the infield on a more frequent basis.

  • Blue Jays' Whit Merrifield: Sits Wednesday

Merrifield is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Mike Wilner of the Toronto Star reports.

Toronto will roll out an outfield of Lourdes Gurriel, Raimel Tapia and Teoscar Hernandez for the series finale while Merrifield heads to the bench after two straight starts. Since being acquired from the Royals on Aug. 2, Merrifield has gone 6-for-21 (.286 average) with three runs, an RBI and a stolen base through his first six games with the Blue Jays.

  • Lenyn Sosa 2B | TOR

White Sox's Lenyn Sosa: Slugs first career homer

Sosa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader against the Royals.

Sosa drew his first start since being recalled Sunday and he delivered his first career home run. He has a very limited major-league sample but has maintained an .878 OPS across 387 plate appearances between Double-A Birmingham and Triple-A Charlotte this season. However, Sosa may struggle to find regular at-bats with the White Sox, as Josh Harrison and Yoan Moncada have been locked into the lineup at second and third base of late.
