  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Rejoining lineup Sunday

Semien (wrist) will start at second base and bat sixth in Sunday's game against the Blue Jays.

After being hit in the right wrist by a pitch in Friday's 6-5 loss, Semien was able to finish out the contest but was withheld from the lineup for Saturday's 14-2 loss while he contended with swelling and soreness in the wrist. The day off appears to have provided sufficient time for Semien to heal up from the injury, as he'll take back his usual spot at the keystone in the series finale while Ezequiel Duran retreats to the bench.

  • Orioles' Jackson Holliday: Snaps homer drought Saturday

Holliday went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in an extra-innings loss to the Astros on Saturday.

Holliday's homer was a clutch one, as it knotted up the game 4-4 in the eighth inning. The long ball was also his first since July 23. Holliday batted only .188 with just two extra-base hits during the 20-game power drought, lowering his season OPS by 50 points to .685. He does have 15 homers and 11 thefts on the campaign, but he hasn't quite broken out yet, at least not to the degree typically expected of a first-overall draft pick.

Rangers' Marcus Semien: X-rays return negative

Semien had X-rays on his wrist Saturday, and those came back negative, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning Newsreports.

Semien was hit by a pitch in the wrist Friday and was held out of Saturday's lineup after the area swelled up overnight. Fortunately for the veteran second baseman, X-rays have indicated that he's not dealing with a fracture. However, it remains to be seen how long Semien will remain sidelined.

  • Luis Urias 2B | ATH

Athletics' Luis Urias: Taking seat Saturday

Urias is absent from the starting lineup against the Angels on Saturday.

Urias is in a rut at the plate, going 0-for-9 over his past four games. He'll get a chance to reset Saturday while Max Schuemann gets a start at second base.

  • Royals' Jonathan India: Getting breather Saturday

India is not in the starting lineup for Saturday's matchup versus the White Sox.

India started each of KC's previous three games, going 3-for-10 with a home run and two RBI, but he'll begin on the bench Saturday. In his stead, Adam Frazier is starting at second base while Randal Grichuk is getting a turn at DH.

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Getting X-rays on wrist

Semien woke up with a swollen wrist Saturday morning after being hit by a pitch in Friday's 6-5 loss to Toronto, and he'll undergo X-rays, Shawn McFarland of The Dallas Morning News reports.

Semien is out of the lineup Saturday and it's now known his absence is due to a wrist injury stemming from a HBP that occurred in the second inning of Friday's contest. Although Semien finished the game, he's now dealing with swelling and will undergo further testing. Should he miss time, Josh Smith and Ezequiel Duran would be in line for starts at second base.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

    Rangers' Marcus Semien: Sitting Saturday

Semien is out of the lineup for Saturday's game against the Blue Jays.

It'll be the second absence for Semien this season, ending a streak of 107 consecutive starts by the second baseman. Semien is in the midst of a minor slump, going 9-for-55 (.164) with no multi-hit performances in his last 14 games. Ezequiel Duran will play the keystone and bat seventh Saturday.

  • Cole Young SS | SEA

Mariners' Cole Young: Big day in Friday's win

Young went 3-for-4 with a walk, two doubles and three RBI in Friday's 11-9 win over the Mets.

The rookie second baseman put together the best performance of his young career at the plate, setting a new personal best in RBI while tying his previous bests in hits and extra-base hits in a single game. Young is finding a groove in the majors after struggling to make much of an impact initially after his late-May promotion -- over his last 12 games, he's slashing .333/.487/.567 with two doubles, a triple, a homer, a steal, seven runs, seven RBI and a stellar 9:5 BB:K.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Swats 14th homer

Semien went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run and a second run scored in Friday's 6-5 loss to the Blue Jays.

Facing the club with which he produced a career-high 45 homers and 102 RBI back in 2021, Semien flashed his old Rogers Centre power by launching a Louis Varland slider over the left-center field wall in the eighth inning. The blast ended a 20-game homerless drought for the 34-year-old Semien, who won't come close to matching those numbers in 2025 -- over 122 contests, he's on pace for the lowest OPS of his career at .652, and he has just 14 homers and 59 RBI.

  • Jazz Chisholm 2B | NYY

Yankees' Jazz Chisholm: Continues running wild in win

Chisholm went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run, a walk, an additional run scored and a stolen base in Friday's 4-3 win over the Cardinals.

That's now eight stolen bases in Chisholm's last 14 games, and the homer was his third of the month so far and his 21st on the campaign. The 27-year-old slugger has been a five-category fantasy contributor for the most part since the beginning of June -- Chisholm is batting a healthy .268 with 14 long balls, 37 RBI, 36 runs scored and 12 steals over his last 60 outings (220 at-bats).
