  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Sitting against southpaw

Julien isn't in the Twins' lineup for Thursday's game against Texas, John Shipley of the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports.

Southpaw Andrew Heaney will start on the mound for the Rangers, meaning the left-handed bat of Julien will stay put in the Twins' dugout to begin the game. Kyle Farmer will take over at second base and bat seventh.

  • Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH

Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Gets breather Thursday

Diaz isn't in the Athletics' lineup Thursday against the White Sox.

Diaz's home run Monday represents his only hit in 17 trips to the plate across his last six games, so he'll get a day off Thursday to regroup. Jonah Bride will step in as Oakland's third baseman and bat eighth.

  • Orioles' Jordan Westburg: Sitting Thursday

Westburg isn't in the Orioles' lineup Thursday against the Blue Jays, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Westburg has logged a hit in four of his last five games and is 3-for-9 during the Orioles' series against Toronto. He'll get a breather against Jose Berrios and the Blue Jays on Thursday, allowing Ramon Urias to start at third base and bat eighth.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Returns to lineup

Frazier (hand) is starting at second base and batting ninth Thursday against Toronto, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

Frazier missed Baltimore's previous three games due to a sore right hand, but the issue appears to have subsided ahead of Thursday's contest. The 31-year-old infielder is slashing .219/.257/.281 with two RBI across 36 plate appearances since the start of August.

  • Vidal Brujan SS | NYM

Rays' Vidal Brujan: Returns to majors

Brujan was recalled from Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Brujan continues to go back-and-forth between Durham and Tampa Bay but has really struggled during his time in the majors this season with a lowly .461 OPS. He'll provide manager Kevin Cash with some defensive versatility.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Racking up stolen bases

Andrus went 1-for-4 with a stolen base Wednesday against the Mariners.

Andrus had been serving as the primary leadoff hitter with Tim Anderson sidelined by a suspension. With Anderson now back in action, Andrus shifted down one spot in the order and also made only his second start of the season at third base. On the field, Andrus managed his 11th stolen base of the campaign and third in his last eight starts. With potential at-bats at three different positions, he should see consistent at-bats down the stretch.

  • Luis Rengifo 3B | SD

Angels' Luis Rengifo: On base four times in loss

Rengifo went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a triple, two runs scored and an RBI in a 9-4 loss to the Reds during the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

The super-utility player did his job from the leadoff spot, but the Angels' offense had trouble cashing him in, particularly after Shohei Ohtani was removed as the DH after complaining of arm fatigue while on the mound. Rengifo has run hot and cold all season, but it's been mostly the latter in August -- he's batting .268 (19-for-71) over his last 20 games with just one homer, five RBI and nine runs.

  • Angels' Brandon Drury: Sits for nightcap

Drury isn't in the Angels' lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Reds, Erica Weston of Bally Sports West reports.

Drury went 0-for-5 and drove in a run during Game 1, snapping what had been a four-game hitting streak. He'll get a breather in the nightcap and be replaced by Luis Rengifo at second base.

  • Jose Caballero SS | NYY

Mariners' Jose Caballero: Swipes two bags off bench

Caballero walked, scored a run and stole a pair of bases in Wednesday's 5-4 loss to the White Sox.

Caballero drew a walk as a pinch hitter for Dominic Canzone to lead off the seventh inning. He'd go on to steal both second and third base before scoring the Mariners' first run on a Josh Rojas bunt single. The 26-year-old Caballero hasn't started since Saturday, though he's come off the bench in three straight games. He's now logged five steals in his last eight contests, improving to 25-for-28 in stolen base attempts this season while slashing .240/.371/.340 with three homers, 33 runs scored and 24 RBI across 248 plate appearances in his rookie campaign.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Stays hot Wendesday

Rojas went 3-for-4 with an RBI, a run scored and a stolen base in Wednesday's loss against the White Sox.

Rojas drove in the Mariners' first run of the contest with a bunt single in the seventh inning before subsequently swiping his ninth base of the season. The 29-year-old Rojas has been on a roll of late, going 9-for-18 (.500) with a homer and three steals in his last four contests. Since joining Seattle, he's batting .294 with a .784 OPS over 15 games. Rojas has boosted his slash line to .242/.301/.329 with two homers, 36 runs scored and 34 RBI across 270 plate appearances between the Mariners and Diamondbacks this season.
