Mauricio Dubon 2B | ATL
Astros' Mauricio Dubon: In leadoff spot Wednesday
Dubon is starting at second base and batting leadoff Wednesday against Cleveland.
Dubon has shifted back into a utility role since Jose Altuve returned late last month from a left oblique injury, but the 29-year-old will get the start in Wednesday's matinee game at Minute Maid Park as Altuve takes a scheduled breather. Dubon is slashing .263/.289/.371 with five homers and six steals through 87 games this season with Houston.

Jose Altuve 2B | HOU
Astros' Jose Altuve: Gets breather Wednesday
Altuve is getting a planned day of rest Wednesday versus the Guardians, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.
Mauricio Dubon will start at second base and hit leadoff. Altuve went 1-for-4 with a single and a run scored in the Astros' win over Cleveland on Tuesday and boasts a .364/.440/.591 batting line in 25 plate appearances since he returned July 26 from a three-week absence for a left oblique injury.

Andy Ibanez 2B | NYM
Tigers' Andy Ibanez: On bench Wednesday
Ibanez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game in Pittsburgh.
Ibanez's hold on a near-everyday role appears to be slipping, as he'll now hit the bench for the fifth time in eight games. Nick Maton will get the nod at the keystone Wednesday, and the Tigers may continue to take a committee approach to second base until one player separates himself from the other as the best option. Ibanez has produced an underwhelming .660 OPS since the beginning of July.

Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI
White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Could be top option at second base
Andrus went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts Tuesday against the Rangers.
Andrus drew the first start at second base for the White Sox after the team dealt away Jake Burger at the trade deadline. He had previously slipped into a backup role for the team, but Andrus could see an uptick in playing time while also competing with Zach Remillard for reps at the position. Andrus has only seven hits across his last 31 at-bats and 13 games.

Jordan Diaz 3B | ATH
Athletics' Jordan Diaz: Hits homer Tuesday
Diaz went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.
Diaz has done fairly well since the All-Star break, batting .289 (11-for-38) over his last 13 games. The infielder could have a chance for steadier playing time with Jace Peterson getting traded to Arizona on Monday. Diaz is slashing a decent .254/.294/.433 with seven homers, 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and three doubles over 45 contests this season.

Ernie Clement SS | TOR
Blue Jays' Ernie Clement: Rejoins big club
Clement was recalled from Triple-A Buffalo on Tuesday.
It'll likely be a short stay in the big leagues for the 27-year-old since trade-acquisition Paul DeJong should soon join his new team. Clement has played in just 12 MLB games this season and is 3-for-7 with a stolen base, two RBI and three runs.

Andres Gimenez 2B | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Sitting against Framber Valdez
Gimenez is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Astros.
The Guardians are facing a tough lefty (Framber Valdez) on Tuesday, so Cleveland manager Terry Francona likely viewed the game as an optimal time to give the lefty-hitting Gimenez just his second day off since the All-Star break. Tyler Freeman will spell Gimenez at second base and bat second.

Luis Urias 2B | ATH
Red Sox's Luis Urias: Dealt to BoSox
The Brewers traded Urias to the Red Sox on Tuesday in exchange for right-hander Bradley Blalock, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
After a disappointing start to the season, the Brewers optioned Urias to Triple-A Nashville at the end of June. Since then, Urias has slashed .250/.392/.447 with four homers. It's unclear whether the Red Sox plan on keeping Urias in the minors or adding him to their MLB bench, but he could factor into the mix at second base down the stretch.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Orioles' Adam Frazier: Out of lineup Tuesday
Frazier is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game at Toronto.
Frazier started the previous four games and will take a seat Tuesday after he went 3-for-13 with a double, a home run, three RBI and two runs. Jordan Westburg will man the keystone and bat sixth against Blue Jays southpaw Hyun Jin Ryu.

Michael Stefanic 2B | TOR
Angels' Michael Stefanic: Optioned to Triple-A
Stefanic was optioned to Triple-A Salt Lake on Tuesday.
Stefanic has always been known for a strong hit tool and little else, and while he hit .349 at Triple-A this season, he only hit .190 with zero home runs in 25 MLB plate appearances. He was replaced on the active roster by Jordyn Adams.
