  • Sam Haggerty LF | TEX

Mariners' Sam Haggerty: Productive despite part-time role

Haggerty started at designated hitter in Wednesday's loss to the Astros and went 1-for-1 with a stolen base and a walk before being pinch-hit for in the sixth inning.

Haggerty's steal leaves him one short of a double-digit tally for the second straight season. The 29-year-old utility man has just five extra-base hits across 101 plate appearances, but he's carrying a .350 on-base percentage thanks largely to a career-best 11.9 percent walk rate. Haggerty's versatility should allow him to see at least a couple of other appearances in Seattle's final four games of the regular season.

  • Jorge Polanco DH | NYM

Twins' Jorge Polanco: Absent from lineup

Polanco is not in the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the Athletics.

Polanco will take a seat for the afternoon game after starting the previous three contests. Donovan Solano is at second base and Willi Castro is at third.

  • Elvis Andrus 2B | ARI

White Sox's Elvis Andrus: Taking seat Thursday

Andrus is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Diamondbacks.

Andrus has been seeing most of the playing time at second base for the White Sox lately, but he'll yield to Lenyn Sosa for this one. Andrus has collected a .674 OPS across 109 games for the Pale Hose this season.

  • Edouard Julien 2B | COL

Twins' Edouard Julien: Belts 15th homer

Julien went 2-for-4 with a solo home run against the A's in Wednesday's 6-4 victory.

Julien began the Twins' half of the first inning with a bang, smacking a solo shot to right field. The long ball snapped an 0-for-11 stretch over his past four games and was his first extra-base hit since Sept. 17. Though he's somewhat faded down the stretch, Julien has still produced a solid .262/.380/.452 slash line with 15 homers, 33 RBI, 58 runs and three stolen bases through 393 plate appearances in his first season in the majors.

  • Mauricio Dubon LF | ATL

Astros' Mauricio Dubon: Blasts 10th homer

Dubon went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 8-3 win over the Mariners.

Dubon put the Astros ahead in the fourth inning when he took Bryce Miller deep, and that blast was enough for the win. Dubon had gone 15 games without a homer, but he hit .333 (14-for-42) in that span while filling a part-time role. He's at a solid .279/.309/.413 slash line with 10 long balls, 46 RBI, 76 runs scored and seven stolen bases through 129 contests this year.

  • Marcus Semien 2B | NYM

Rangers' Marcus Semien: Goes yard in win

Semien went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Wednesday's 5-0 win over the Angels.

Semien has turned up the power in the final week of the season, clubbing four homers over his last four games. He's up to 29 long balls on the year, one shy of reaching the 30-homer mark for the third time in his career. The second baseman has added a .278/.350/.482 slash line with 99 RBI, 121 runs scored and 14 stolen bases through 158 contests as the Rangers' main leadoff hitter.

  • Josh Rojas 3B | KC

Mariners' Josh Rojas: Sitting against lefty

Rojas is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Astros.

Jose Caballero will start at second base and bat ninth in the Mariners' hugely important matchup versus the Astros and left-hander Framber Valdez. Rojas has slashed just .233/.313/.279 against lefties this year between Arizona and Seattle.

  • Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL

Orioles' Joey Ortiz: Returns to action at Triple-A

Ortiz (oblique) is back in the lineup for Triple-A Norfolk on Wednesday, David Hall of The Virginia-Pilot reports.

Ortiz will start at second base and bat sixth after missing three weeks of action because of a left oblique injury. The 25-year-old infielder has posted an impressive .321/.378/.507 slash line with nine homers and 11 steals in 88 games this season at the Triple-A level.

  • Royals' Michael Massey: Sitting versus lefty

Massey is not in the lineup Wednesday against the Tigers.

Nick Loftin will play second base and bat sixth as tough left-hander Tarik Skubal toes the slab for Detroit. Massey has posted a weak .591 OPS in 87 plate appearances versus lefties this year.

  • Adam Frazier 2B | LAA

Orioles' Adam Frazier: Not in Wednesday's lineup

Frazier is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Roch Kubatko of MASNSports.com reports.

The left-handed hitting Frazier will begin this one on the bench as the Nats throw southpaw Patrick Corbin. Jordan Westburg is handling second base.
