Torres (side) wasn't available to pinch hit Monday against the Red Sox, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

This update indicates that Torres is still being bothered by his left side injury, and it seems as though a trip to the injured list is very much on the table at this juncture. Skipper A.J. Hinch was hopeful that Torres may be able to pinch hit late in Monday's matchup, but Hinch noted after the game that the 29-year-old wasn't feeling healthy enough for an at-bat. Given this information, it's unlikely that Torres will be back in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game.

Westburg has been shut down from throwing after feeling discomfort in his right elbow, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Westburg has been sidelined by a partial UCL tear in his right elbow since mid-February. He was steadily progressing through his recovery, including swinging a bat and a throwing program, but he has recently hit a setback and will be shut down until he's reevaluated by the Orioles' medical staff. Westburg is eligible to be activated from the 60-day injured list in late May, but he may need a longer stint on the IL depending on how his elbow responds over the coming days.

Massey is not in the Royals' starting lineup against the Guardians on Monday.

Massey will be on the bench for the beginning of Monday's game while Nick Loftin starts at second base and bats ninth. Massey is in the midst of a slump at the plate, having gone 1-for-20 with one steal, one RBI, two runs scored and a 2:7 BB:K over his last seven games.

Donovan (groin) will begin a rehab assignment with Double-A Arkansas on Tuesday, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.

Donovan was previously expected to return before the end of the team's current homestand. That's now off the table, but if all goes well during his two-game stint with Arkansas, the 29-year-old will likely return Friday in Chicago. Donovan said recently that his groin issue will need to be monitored moving forward and is likely related to last year's sports hernia surgery.

Caballero appears to have earned himself an extended run as the Yankees' primary shortstop after the team reinstated Anthony Volpe (shoulder) from the 10-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Sunday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

General manager Brian Cashman said April 10 that the Yankees' goal was for Volpe to reclaim the everyday shortstop job once healthy enough to do so, but that plan appears to have shifted with Volpe being optioned to Triple-A at the conclusion of his 20-day rehab window. Caballero has put himself in position to hang onto Volpe's former role with a strong start to the season, as he leads MLB shortstops with seven defensive runs saved while posting a serviceable .259/.306/.405 slash line to go along with four home runs, 15 runs, 12 RBI and 13 stolen bases over 33 games. Manager Aaron Boone acknowledged Caballero's seizing of the lead shortstop role Sunday, noting that the speedy veteran has "played himself into and earned himself more playing time." However, Boone also left the door open for Caballero to move back into a super-utility role down the road, so the 29-year-old may need to maintain his current level of performance to ensure he holds off Volpe for the job for the rest of the season. For now, fantasy managers who have enjoyed Caballero's contributions on the basepaths and his surprising uptick in power should plan on continuing to plug him into lineups with more confidence now that Volpe is at least temporarily out of the picture.

McNeil went 2-for-4 with a three-RBI double in Sunday's win over Cleveland.

With the bases loaded in the sixth inning, McNeil smashed a bases-clearing double into right field to extend the Athletics' lead to 7-1, which would hold as the final score. The second baseman has been swinging a hot bat of late, slashing .409/.440/.545 with three doubles, six RBI and one run over his past seven games, raising the veteran's season OPS to .801. It has been a strong year in the batting average department for McNeil, who's hitting north of .300 (.314) for the first time since 2022, when he won the National League batting title and hit .326 across 148 regular-season contests with the Mets.

Gelof went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, an additional run scored and a walk in Sunday's 7-1 victory over the Guardians.

Gelof jumped on a Parker Messick slider, crushing a 429-foot homer in the fifth inning to give the Athletics a lead they wouldn't relinquish. With Denzel Clarke (foot) injured, Gelof has seen opportunities in center field against left-handed pitching and has shown flashes of productivity, driving in three runs across two starts in the series against the Guardians. Overall, the 26-year-old is hitting .250/.286/.425 with two homers, a double, seven RBI, eight runs and two stolen bases across 44 plate appearances in 2026.

Triple-A Salt Lake placed Moore on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to a leg injury, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Moore hadn't played since April 25 on account of the injury, which Angels general manager Perry Minasian relayed is a minor issue that won't keep the young infielder on the shelf for too long. Before succumbing to the injury, Moore failed to win a spot on the Angels' Opening Day roster but had gotten off to a nice start to the season at Salt Lake with a .219/.437/.452 slash line and more walks (28) than strikeouts (24) over his 103 plate appearances.

The Tigers optioned Jung to Triple-A Toledo on Sunday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Jung was called up from Toledo on Wednesday and will return there after going 1-for-4 with two walks and a run in two big-league contests. Zack Short is taking his spot on the major-league roster.
