Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT
Rays' Brandon Lowe: Should resume rehab assignment soon
Rays manager Kevin Cash said Tuesday that Lowe (oblique) will rejoin the team in Tampa Bay and will resume swinging the bat before heading back out on a minor-league rehab assignment in short order, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Cash's comments came after Lowe was pulled off his assignment with Durham when he experienced renewed soreness in his right oblique during his fourth rehab game Sunday. Lowe visited a spine surgeon Tuesday for further consultation on his injury, with Cash noting that further imaging showed the second baseman was "heading in the right direction" with his recovery. Cash said that Lowe may still have to manage some pain moving forward, but the 29-year-old at least appears to have steered clear of a major setback. If he's able to return to Durham and resume playing in games by this weekend, Lowe could be ready to come off the 10-day injured list at some point next week.

Jorge Polanco DH | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Out Wednesday with hamstring injury
Polanco (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Royals, Daniel Kramer of MLB.com reports.
Polanco will take a seat for the second day in a row while he manages a tight right hamstring. The Mariners are viewing him as day-to-day, but a trip to the injured list could become more realistic if Polanco is still not available to start coming out of Thursday's team off day.

Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Plates two in win
Gimenez went 2-for-4 with two RBI, one stolen base and one run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Rangers.
Gimenez contributed an RBI single in the second inning and a sacrifice fly in the ninth. He's hit safely in three straight games after going 0-for-15 over the previous four contests. The second baseman is up to a .255/.318/.357 slash line with six steals, two home runs, 23 RBI, 23 runs scored, eight doubles and a triple over 40 contests. While his power is slightly down this year, the rest of his offense is roughly in line with where he was at in 2023.

Nicky Lopez 2B | TEX
White Sox's Nicky Lopez: Idle against lefty
Lopez is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
With the White Sox playing a day game following Tuesday's doubleheader and with a lefty (Patrick Corbin) on the hill for Washington, the lefty-hitting Lopez will get the afternoon off. Zach Remillard checks in for Lopez at second base.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa 2B | BOS
Blue Jays' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Not starting Wednesday
Kiner-Falefa is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.
Kiner-Falefa had started each of the Blue Jays' last seven games, and even after Tuesday's contest was postponed, manager John Schneider will give the infielder some additional rest before Toronto returns to action Friday versus the Rays. Ernie Clement will serve as Toronto's starting third baseman in Kiner-Falefa's stead.

Zack Gelof 3B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Hitless in return
Gelof (oblique) went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Astros.
Gelof missed just under three weeks with an oblique strain. The second baseman returned to the No. 6 spot in the lineup, which is where he was slotting into just before the injury after starting the year batting second. He's slashing a poor .188/.250/.323 with three home runs, seven RBI, 11 runs scored and four stolen bases over 25 contests this season. Gelof showed promise with 14 homers and an .841 OPS over 69 games in 2023, but he's still looking to get into a rhythm this year.

Jorge Polanco DH | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Held out Tuesday
Polanco (hamstring) isn't in the Mariners' lineup for Tuesday's game against the Royals.
Right hamstring tightness forced Polanco out of Monday's contest, and he will get an additional day to recover Tuesday. Josh Rojas will cover second base as a result, allowing Luis Urias to start at the hot corner and bat ninth.

Zack Gelof 3B | ATH
Athletics' Zack Gelof: Returns from injured list
Gelof (oblique) was reinstated from the 10-day injured list and is starting at second base Tuesday against the Astros.
The 24-year-old has been sidelined nearly three weeks by an oblique strain and is back with Oakland after a two-game rehab assignment with Triple-A Las Vegas. Gelof had a slow start to the campaign with a .597 OPS through 24 games but should operate as the Athletics' primary second baseman now that he's healthy.

Adam Frazier 2B | LAA
Royals' Adam Frazier: Idle Tuesday
Frazier is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mariners.
Frazier will be out of the lineup for the second time in the last three games, with Michael Massey playing second base and Nelson Velazquez operating as the designated hitter.
