  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Returns to lineup

Cooper (knee) is starting Monday's game against the Nationals, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper sat out Sunday after he fouled a ball off his left knee Saturday, but he'll be back in action following a one-game absence. Over his last five games, he's hit .263 with a homer, a double, three runs and two RBI.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Tallies eighth long ball

Tellez went 2-for-4 with a home run, two RBI and a walk in Sunday's victory over the Marlins.

Tellez went through a 3-for-28 (.107) stretch in the seven games that preceded Sunday's, but he got back on track with his eighth long ball of the season. He is now up to 29 RBI, which ties him for third among all players league-wide.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slow start in return

Vaughn went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Sunday against the Yankees.

Vaughn was activated from the injured list Friday after recovering from a hand injury. He was in the lineup both Saturday and Sunday but collected only one hit across eight at-bats with three strikeouts. That's hardly a reason for concern, however as Vaughn has maintained a .262/.338/.508 line with a .373 wOBA across 68 plate appearances this season. He should be line for regular playing time with Eloy Jimenez (hamstring) sidelined.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Goes yard again

Gurriel went 3-for-4 with a solo home run Sunday against the Nationals.

Gurriel took Patrick Corbin yard in the sixth inning to record his second home run of the season. After failing to go deep across his first 26 starts, Gurriel has homered twice in his last three games while also recording two doubles. He's hitting .248/.292/.416 across 120 plate appearances on the season, and his recent surge has raised his ISO to .168.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Knocks trio of extra-base hits

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a home run, two doubles, three runs and three RBI in a 15-6 win over San Francisco on Sunday.

Goldschmidt got St. Louis on the board with a two-run shot off Carlos Rodon in the first inning, doubled and scored in the third and doubled home a run before scoring in the fourth. The 34-year-old extended his hitting streak to a modest eight games -- including five multi-hit performances -- and is now slashing .312/.394/.496 with four home runs, 21 runs and 20 RBI.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Homers twice in win

Calhoun went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs in Sunday's 7-1 win over the Red Sox.

Calhoun was dominant during the three-game series against Boston, going 6-for-12 with two homers, a triple, a double, four RBI and three runs. The 34-year-old had a relatively slow start to the season, but he's hitting .220 with three homers, nine RBI and five runs following his success against the Red Sox.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Sitting out Sunday

Cooper (knee) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Brewers.

Cooper fouled a pitch off the inside of his left knee Saturday and was diagnosed with a contusion after X-rays came back negative, and he'll remain out of the lineup for Sunday's contest. It appears he's avoided a serious injury, though the 31-year-old will miss at least one game. Avisail Garcia will serve as the designated hitter while Bryan De La Cruz starts in right field.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Out of Sunday's lineup

Diaz is not in Sunday's lineup against the Blue Jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

He missed Friday's game with an illness but returned Saturday and went 1-for-3 with a walk and a solo home run. Ji-Man Choi and Taylor Walls will man the infield corners.

  • Bobby Dalbec 1B | CHW

Red Sox's Bobby Dalbec: In lineup against righty

Dalbec started at first base and went 2-for-4 with a double, an RBI and two runs scored in Saturday's 11-3 win over Texas.

Since Franchy Cordero was called up two weeks ago, Dalbec has sat against right-handed starters, but he was in the lineup Saturday against Glenn Otto while Cordero covered left field for the injured Alex Verdugo (foot). Dalbec hasn't hit pitchers of either hand very well in 2022. He had similar issues last season before getting hot over August and September. The Red Sox had thought Dalbec turned a corner then, but the struggles have continued this year.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Has knee contusion

Cooper suffered a left knee contusion Saturday, with X-rays coming back negative, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He was replaced in the top of the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off the inside of his knee in the sixth. Cooper should be considered day-to-day for now, as it sounds like he avoided a serious injury.
