Phillies' Rhys Hoskins: Three hits, homer

Hoskins went 3-for-4 with a solo home run and an additional run in an 8-3 win against the Dodgers on Saturday.

Hoskins singled and scored in the third inning, smacked a solo homer in the fourth and singled in the seventh in tallying three hits for the second time in his last six games and extending a seven-game hitting streak. During the stretch, the 29-year-old has batted 16-for-32 with four homers and has bumped his average from .187 to .236.

  • Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Steals bag Saturday

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a stolen base in a loss to the White Sox on Saturday.

Rizzo extended his modest on-base streak to five games with an infield single in the eighth inning, and he subsequently stole third base. However, the first baseman has gone 12 games without a long ball after slugging nine homers across his first 20 contests of the campaign. He's slashing .233/.350/.526 across 137 plate appearances overall.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Exits after fouling ball off leg

Cooper left Saturday's game against the Brewers before the seventh inning after fouling a pitch off himself in the bottom of the sixth inning, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

He was replaced by Erik Gonzalez, with Miguel Rojas shifting over to play first base. Cooper's status will be updated once the team comments on the injury.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Hits solo homer

Olson went 1-for-4 with a solo homer Saturday against the Padres.

Olson opened the scoring with a solo shot off Sean Manaea in the bottom of the first inning. The homer was his fourth of the season, putting him on pace for just 19, but his overall .262/.373/.468 slash line is good for a strong 136 wRC+.

  • Mariners' Alex Blandino: Shipped to Seattle

Blandino was sent from San Francisco to Seattle on Saturday in exchange for Stuart Fairchild.

The move sees the two sides swap depth options. Blandino doesn't have a 40-man roster spot and has spent the year with Triple-A Sacramento, where he's hit .183/.309/.280. He owns a .226/.339/.291 slash line in 279 career major-league plate appearances.

  • Alfonso Rivas 1B | STL

Cubs' Alfonso Rivas: Not in lineup

Rivas will sit Saturday against Arizona.

Rivas appears to have moved into the large side of a platoon role at first base, but he'll sit here even with righty Zac Gallen on the mound for Arizona. Frank Schwindel starts at first base.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Sent down Saturday

Kirilloff was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday.

Kirilloff missed several weeks with a wrist injury in mid-April and early May, and he was unable to generate much production at the plate when healthy. The 24-year-old hit just .172 with two runs, a walk and 12 strikeouts over 10 games, and he'll be sent to the minors to right the ship. Jose Miranda is starting at first base and batting sixth Saturday and should serve as the primary first baseman since Miguel Sano (knee) remains on the injured list.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Heads to bench

Lowe will sit Saturday against Boston.

Lowe has had a poor start to the season, particularly in the power department, as he's hitting .246/.295/.307 with just a single home run through 30 games. He'll hit the bench Saturday with Andy Ibanez getting the nod at first base.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Royals' Carlos Santana: Retreats to bench

Santana isn't starting Saturday against the Rockies.

Santana returned from the injured list for Friday's series opener in Colorado and went 0-for-3 with a run, two walks and a strikeout. Ryan O'Hearn will start at first base and bat cleanup Saturday.

  • Yandy Diaz DH | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Returns to lineup

Diaz (illness) is starting Saturday against the Blue Jays, Neil Solondz of the Rays Radio Network reports.

Diaz was scratched from Friday's lineup due to a non-COVID illness, but he'll start at third base and lead off Saturday. He's gone 0-for-8 with an RBI, a walk and a strikeout over his last two games.
