Mariners' Ty France: Three more hits Wednesday

France went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Orioles on Wednesday and now has multi-hit efforts in four of his last five games.

The 27-year-old pushed his season slash line to an elite .355/.426/.513. France also reached the 70-hit mark for the campaign, pushing him into second place behind the Red Sox's Rafael Devers for the major-league lead in that category.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Slugs sixth homer

Abreu went 2-for-4 with a two-run home run Wednesday against the Blue Jays.

Abreu took Hyun Jin Ryu (forearm) yard in the fourth inning to record his sixth home run of the season. Three of those long balls have come in his last 10 starts, and Abreu has also tallied eight RBI and seven runs scored in that span. As a result of this hot stretch, Abreu has raised his line to .250/.343/.419 across 198 plate appearances on the campaign.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Swats sixth homer

Flores went 1-for-4 with a three-run home run in Wednesday's 6-5 loss to the Phillies.

He took Aaron Nola deep in the sixth inning, providing the Giants with a 5-2 lead, but it was the last gasp of the team's offense on the night. Flores has gone yard in two of the last three games to give him six homers on the year, and he's slashing .255/.311/.430 with 26 runs and 30 RBI through 45 contests.

  • Nate Lowe DH | CIN

Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Turning on power

Lowe went 2-for-5 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Rays in extra innings.

Lowe, who homered for the third time in the last 12 games, has made much more of an impact with his bat of late. The first baseman is batting .349 (15-for-43) with a 1.032 OPS, five extra-base hits, eight RBI and nine runs scored during that stretch.

  • Orioles' Ryan Mountcastle: Slugs seventh homer

Mountcastle went 1-for-2 with two walks, a solo home run and two runs scored Wednesday against the Mariners.

Mountcastle took Sergio Romo yard in sixth inning to record his seventh homer of the season. It was his third home run in his last 11 starts, and he has also recorded five RBI and nine runs scored in that span. Mountcastle has maintained a .264/.302/.421 line across 169 plate appearances for the campaign.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Three RBI in afternoon game

Cooper went 3-for-6 with a double, three RBI and two runs scored in a 14-1 win over the Rockies in the first game of Wednesday's doubleheader.

The Marlins teed off on Rockies starter Antonio Senzatela -- Cooper was one of five Miami hitters to log three hits. The 31-year-old also started in the nightcap, but he went 0-for-2 before Nick Fortes replaced him as the designated hitter. Cooper is up to a .282/.361/.429 slash line with three home runs, 22 RBI, 17 runs scored, 12 doubles and a triple in 45 contests this year.

  • Luke Voit 1B | NYM

Padres' Luke Voit: Homers late in loss

Voit went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 5-2 loss to the Cardinals.

Voit took Cardinals reliever Kodi Whitley deep in the ninth inning. The Padres continued to push after that, but they weren't able to tie the game. In his last 12 games, Voit is 12-for-40 (.300 with two homers, four RBI and six runs scored.) He's lifted his slash line to .217/.339/.358 with four long balls, 11 RBI, 16 runs scored, three doubles and a stolen base through 31 contests. He should continue to see regular playing time as the Padres' designated hitter.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

    Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Resting Wednesday

Gurriel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Athletics.

Gurriel will get a breather for the day game after a night game, allowing Aledmys Diaz to pick up a rare start at first base. The Astros had included Gurriel in the lineup in each of their previous 11 games, with the 37-year-old slashing .146/.186/.171 during that stretch.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Unlikely to return this week

Casas (ankle) has yet to resume swinging a bat or taking part in agility work and isn't expected to be activated from Triple-A Worcester's 7-day injured list at any point this week, Alex Speier of The Boston Globe reports.

When Casas initially sprained his right ankle in a May 17 game, the Red Sox were optimistic he would miss only a few days of action while recovering from the injury. However, Casas has progressed slower than expected, as he has yet to resume any meaningful baseball activities two weeks after suffering the injury. Even with Boston's first-base platoon of Franchy Cordero and Bobby Dalbec yielding middling production at the big-league level, a promotion shouldn't be viewed as imminent for Casas while he faces an uncertain timeline to return to the Tripe-A lineup.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Slugs sixth homer

Vaughn went 4-for-5 with a home run, a double and two RBI on Tuesday against the Blue Jays.

Vaughn took Kevin Gausman yard in the opening frame to record his sixth home run of the season. After his solo shot, Vaughn drove in an additional run on a single in the fifth inning. Across his last 10 games, Vaughn has delivered five multi-hit performances -- good for a .359 batting average -- with two home runs, nine RBI and seven runs scored. Through 121 total plate appearances, he appears to be on the path to a breakout campaign by maintaining a .291/.339/.509 line.
