Diaz went 1-for-1 with a double, three walks, a stolen base and two runs scored in Friday's 6-3 win over the White Sox.

Diaz wasn't able to do a lot with the bat, but his continued solid plate discipline kept the line moving Friday. In his last four games, he's 5-for-11 with six walks and a hit-by-pitch. His walk rate for the season is at 16.9 percent, a strong mark even for the patient 30-year-old. Diaz sports a .271/.407/.361 slash line with three home runs, 12 RBI, 21 runs scored, four doubles and a steal through 177 plate appearances.

Santana is being moved to a part-time role, Josh Vernier of 610 Sports Kansas City reports.

He is not in Friday's lineup and manager Mike Matheny said it's something Santana will have to adjust to going forward. Hunter Dozier is starting at first base in this one, and it may not be long before top prospect Vinnie Pasquantino gets the call from Triple-A.

Cooper is starting at designated hitter and batting second in Friday's matchup with the Giants.

Cooper will return to the lineup after missing Thursday's contest with a side injury. He's produced at least one hit in seven of his last eight games, going 12-for-31 with a homer, seven RBI and three runs over that stretch.

Solano (hamstring) is expected to start his rehab assignment Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Solano has yet to make his Reds debut after signing with the team in the offseason, but he appears to be closing in on a return. The 34-year-old batted .280 with seven homers, 31 RBI, 35 runs and two stolen bases over 307 at-bats in 101 games with the Giants last season.

Bell went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's loss to the Reds.

His seventh-inning shot off Graham Ashcraft ended a brutal scoreless streak of 27.1 innings for the Nationals' offense, but it was the only run the team scrounged up in an 8-1 loss. Bell also snapped a personal 23-game homer drought, a stretch during which he slashed a feeble .253/.302/.276 with only eight RBI. On the season, the first baseman is batting .309 with five home runs and 29 RBI in 52 contests.

Beaty's shoulder injury hasn't progressed as hoped, and his rehab assignment has been halted, Kevin Acee of The San Diego Union-Tribune reports.

Beaty was placed on the 10-day IL on May 9 with a left shoulder impingement, but he appeared to be progressing to the extent that he was able to begin a rehab assignment May 24. He hit well over four games with Triple-A El Paso, going 7-for-17 with a home run and five RBI. However, the shoulder continues to give him problems, so the organization has decided to send him back to its training complex in Arizona. It's unclear when Beaty may be able to return to game action.

Rizzo isn't in the lineup for the second game of Thursday's doubleheader against the Angels.

Rizzo went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in the first game of Thursday's doubleheader, but he'll get a breather in the nightcap. DJ LeMahieu will shift to first base while Marwin Gonzalez enters the lineup at the hot corner.

Cooper isn't starting Thursday against the Giants due to an intercostal injury, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Cooper is banged up following Wednesday's doubleheader against Colorado, but the team is hopes he'll be available off the bench in Thursday's series opener against the Giants. Jorge Soler will serve as the designated hitter while Luke Williams starts in left field.

Rivas isn't starting Thursday's game against the Cardinals.

Rivas drew two starts against left-handed pitchers over the last three games, but he'll get a breather with southpaw Matthew Liberatore on the mound for the Cardinals on Thursday. Frank Schwindel is shifting to first base while P.J. Higgins takes over behind the dish and Willson Contreras rests his legs as the designated hitter.

France went 3-for-4 in a loss to the Orioles on Wednesday and now has multi-hit efforts in four of his last five games.

The 27-year-old pushed his season slash line to an elite .355/.426/.513. France also reached the 70-hit mark for the campaign, pushing him into second place behind the Red Sox's Rafael Devers for the major-league lead in that category.
