  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Modest hitting streak ends

Gurriel went 0-for-4 with a strikeout Monday against the Rangers.

Gurriel was riding a modest four-game hitting streak into Monday's game. Though he collected only one hit in each of those contests, he did record three doubles. That was a welcomed sign of increased power for Gurriel, as he has just a .350 slugging percentage across 219 plate appearances on the season.

  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Launches 16th homer

Walker went 1-for-2 with a two-run home run and two walks in Monday's loss to the Reds.

Walker produced the game's first runs with a big 446-foot blast to left field in the third inning. The homer was his 16th of the campaign, tied for second in the National League. Walker is batting only .209 on the season, but the power has made him a viable fantasy option.

  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Collects three hits

Goldschmidt went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, a walk and two runs scored in Monday's 7-5 win over the Pirates.

Goldschmidt took Sunday off after going 0-for-9 over his previous three games and he immediately got his groove back Monday. He doubled and scored in the sixth inning and then drilled a go-ahead shot to begin the seventh. The slugging first baseman is now slashing .335/.419/.598 with 33 extra-base hits and 48 RBI this season. However, since losing his 25-game hitting streak on June 4, Goldschmidt is hitting just .250 with one RBI in nine appearances.

  • Jose Abreu 1B | HOU

White Sox's Jose Abreu: Powers offense with two homers

Abreu went 3-for-4 with a pair of home runs, four RBI and a walk in Monday's 9-5 win over the Tigers.

Abreu bookended the scoring Monday with a two-run homer in each of the first and ninth innings. It was the first baseman's first multi-homer game this season, and with nine in 57 contests overall, he's lagging a bit behind his usual 30-homer pace. He's still posted a steady .260/.360/.442 slash line with 28 RBI, 31 runs scored and 12 doubles across 250 plate appearances. Abreu also owns career-best walk (12.4 percent) and strikeout (16 percent) rates.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Sitting Tuesday

Torkelson will not be in the starting lineup for Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Following an 0-for-4, three-strikeout showing in Monday's loss, Torkelson finds himself in a 3-for-38 slump at the plate over his last 12 games. The rookie will get Tuesday off to hit the reset button, but skipper A.J. Hinch pledged his support behind Torkelson as the Tigers' everyday first baseman.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Tigers' Kody Clemens: Tallies first two MLB hits

Clemens went 2-for-2 with a walk and two runs scored in Monday's loss to the White Sox.

Clemens finally got a few hits to his name, as he came into Monday 0-for-17 across nine games to begin his big league career. The 26-year-old may continue to see sporadic playing time for the Tigers, but he's not much of a fantasy asset at this point.

  • Blue Jays' Vladimir Guerrero: Homers in blowout win

Guerrero went 3-for-5 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored in Monday's 11-1 win over the Orioles.

Guerrero supplied RBI singles in the third and fifth innings before going yard on a solo shot in the eighth. It was his third multi-hit effort in his last four games as he continues to show signs of breaking out of his early May slump. Eight of his 15 homers this season have come in his last 18 contests. The first baseman has added a .258/.341/.493 slash line with 37 RBI, 31 runs scored and seven doubles across 252 plate appearances for the season as he rounds back into something resembling All-Star form.

  • LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Nearing rehab assignment

Wade (knee) could be sent out on a rehab assignment at the end of the week, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

Wade was held back from beginning his rehab stint after experiencing tightness in his left hamstring over the weekend, but he's slowly making progress. The team should have a better idea on a return date once he embarks on a rehab assignment.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Back in action

Cooper was activated off the COVID-19 injured list Monday and will bat second and play first base against the Phillies, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Cooper hit the COVID-19 injured list Saturday after coming down with cramps the day prior, but he evidently didn't test positive for the virus. That's great news for the Marlins, as Cooper has gone on a .455/.507/.682 tear over his last 18 games.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Gets rare day off

Bohm is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Marlins, Scott Lauber of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Bohm will sit for the first time since April 17 while Matt Vierling picks up a start at the hot corner. The 25-year-old's move to the bench comes after he went 1-for-16 with a walk and five strikeouts over the Phillies' last four games.
