  • Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Hits two-run blast

Walker went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Friday's 5-3 loss to the Padres.

Walker had gone 11 games without a long ball since his two-homer game versus the Rockies on July 2. Since that date, he's hit .179 (7-for-39) with only one multi-hit performance. The first baseman's downturn in power of late hurts his fantasy profile, as he doesn't often hit consistently. He's slashing .206/.319/.467 with 22 homers, 45 RBI, 44 runs scored, 12 doubles and a triple through 88 contests.

  • C.J. Cron 1B | BOS

Rockies' C.J. Cron: Pops homer in win

Cron went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two total runs scored in Friday's 13-2 win over the Pirates.

Cron has been hampered by a wrist injury over the last week, but he was able to make an impact Friday. His solo shot in the seventh inning sparked a four-run rally to pad the Rockies' lead, and it was his 21st long ball of the season. Since June 25, he's batting .311 (19-for-61) with four homers, 17 RBI and nine runs scored. The first baseman has maintained a stellar .296/.349/.553 slash line with 69 RBI, 54 runs scored and 20 doubles through 88 contests overall.

  • Giants' Wilmer Flores: Sitting Friday

Flores (calf) is not in the lineup for Friday's game against the Brewers, Amy Gutierrez of the Giants' official site reports.

Flores was scratched from Thursday's lineup due to right calf soreness, and he'll be absent from the starting nine again Friday. David Villar will receive another start at the hot corner for San Francisco.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Takes seat Friday

Tellez is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Giants.

Tellez started the past eight games and will head to the bench Friday after posting a .161/.235/.258 slash line during that span. Mike Brosseau will take over at first base for Milwaukee.

  • Yuli Gurriel DH | SD

    Astros' Yuli Gurriel: Resting Friday

Gurriel will sit Friday against the Athletics.

Gurriel has just two hits in his last four games, dropping his season slash line to .231/.283/.383. J.J. Matijevic will get the start at first base in his absence.

  • Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE

Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Not in Friday's lineup

Calhoun will sit Friday against the Mariners.

Calhoun started against the last three southpaws the Rangers faced but will hit the bench Friday against Robbie Ray. Elier Hernandez gets the nod in left field.

  • Tigers' Spencer Torkelson: Not in Friday's lineup

Torkelson isn't starting Friday against the Guardians.

Torkelson drew starts in the last eight games and hit .222 with two doubles, three runs and an RBI. Harold Castro is starting at first base and batting fifth Friday.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Back in action

Cooper (knee) will bat second and play first base Friday against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

A bruised left knee kept Cooper out of the lineup the previous two games, though he did appear off the bench Thursday. He's been cold over his last 10 games, striking out 13 times while recording just three hits, but his overall .295/.362/.453 slash line earned him his first career All-Star nod.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Mariners' Carlos Santana: Placed on restricted list

Santana (personal) was placed on the restricted list Friday as he addresses a family emergency.

Santana will be away from the team for a few days while with his family, likely making him unavailable until after the All-Star break. Kevin Padlo was recalled from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday to replace him on the active roster.

  • Kevin Padlo 1B | LAD

Mariners' Kevin Padlo: Called up Friday

Padlo was called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

The 26-year-old will return to the Mariners after he was sent down in late June, filling the roster spot of Carlos Santana who was placed on the restricted list Friday with a family emergency. Padlo has gone 4-for-22 with a double and three RBI over 10 games in the big leagues this season.
