  • Cardinals' Paul Goldschmidt: Logs 150th career steal

Goldschmidt went 2-for-4 two doubles, a walk, a stolen base and a run scored in Friday's 7-3 loss to the Dodgers.

The steal was the 150th of Goldschmidt's career, three of which have come this season. That's solid work on the basepaths for a first baseman, though he's far from a significant speed threat overall. With the bat, he's gone 10-for-25 (.400) over the last six games and is now slashing .310/.415/.530 with four home runs, 14 RBI, 17 runs and 10 doubles through 26 contests in 2023.

Mariners' Ty France: Gets breather amid slump

France is not in the starting lineup Saturday at Toronto, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

France has fallen into a 1-for-25 slump and will grab a day of mental and physical rest. Sam Haggerty is covering first base and batting ninth versus the Blue Jays and right-hander Kevin Gausman.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Absent from lineup Saturday

Cooper is absent from the lineup Saturday against the Cubs, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.

Yuli Gurriel will take a turn at first base and Jorge Soler is in at designated hitter versus the Cubs and right-hander Caleb Kilian. Cooper went 0-for-4 in Friday's series opener and is slashing just .159/.192/.182 over his last 47 plate appearances.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Out of lineup Saturday

Casas is out of the lineup Saturday versus the Guardians.

Justin Turner will play first base and bat third against the Guardians and right-hander Zach Plesac. Masataka Yoshida is taking a turn at DH and hitting second. Casas has slugged three home runs in 25 games this year, but his overall slash line is just .133/.283/.293.

  • Matt Olson 1B | ATL

Braves' Matt Olson: Slugs eighth homer

Olson went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Friday's 4-0 win over the Mets.

The first baseman crushed a David Peterson offering to right field in the fifth inning, sending the ball an estimated 433 feet. The blast came just in the nick of time too, as an 88-minute rain delay resulted in the game being called after five frames. Olson is up to eight homers in 27 games to begin the season to go along with a .252/.369/.563 slash line, 20 runs and an NL-leading 25 RBI.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

White Sox's Andrew Vaughn: Swats second homer

Vaughn went 2-for-4 with a walk and a solo home run in Friday's 3-2 loss to the Rays.

He got the White Sox on the board by taking Zach Eflin deep in the first inning. It's only the second homer of the year for Vaughn, but they've both come in the last nine games. On the season, the 25-year-old is slashing .245/.345/.398 with 10 runs and 17 RBI through 26 contests.

  • Ryan Noda 1B | BAL

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Launches third homer of season

Noda went 3-for-4 with a two-run homer and four runs scored in Friday's loss against the Reds.

Noda clobbered a 427-foot shot to right-center field in the bottom of the seventh, as he scored over half of Oakland's runs in the 11-7 loss. The rookie first baseman is now riding a four-game hit streak, and he has a .262/.423/.475 slash line to start the season.

  • Nick Pratto 1B | TEX

Royals' Nick Pratto: Tallies three hits Friday

Pratto went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Friday's 8-6 loss to the Twins.

Pratto was able to make a solid impact in his first game back with the Royals after he was recalled earlier in the day, delivering RBI singles in the fourth and sixth innings. He was struggling with a .159/.259/.319 slash line through 19 games with Triple-A Omaha this season, but with few other Royals hitting well, Pratto could earn some playing time while with the big club.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Drives home winning run

Tellez went 2-for-3 with one RBI in Friday's 2-1 win over the Angels.

Tellez singled home William Contreras with two outs in the eighth inning to give the Brewers a 2-1 lead. Tellez is up to 20 RBI this season and a .905 OPS, which dwarfs his 2022 OPS of .767.

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Leaves with shoulder soreness

Diaz left Friday's game against the White Sox with left shoulder soreness, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports. He went 1-for-2 with a run scored before exiting.

Diaz was replaced by Taylor Walls as a pinch hitter in the fifth inning. He should be considered day-to-day pending the results of any testing.
