Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Set to be sent down

The Twins plan to activate Kirilloff (wrist) from the 10-day injured list and option him to Triple-A St. Paul on Monday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Kirilloff completed his rehab assignment at St. Paul on Sunday and will remain with the minor-league club now that he's healthy once again. The 25-year-old slashed .346/.469/.731 with three home runs, 11 RBI, eight runs and two steals over seven games during his rehab games in St. Paul and should continue to see regular at-bats in the minors until he's up to speed following his rehab stint.

  • Kody Clemens 1B | MIN

Phillies' Kody Clemens: Getting more work versus righties

Clemens will serve as the Phillies' designated hitter and No. 8 batter in Sunday's game against the Astros.

Clemens has now started against four of the last five right-handed pitchers the Phillies have faced, and he at least temporarily appears to have secured the final spot in the team's regular lineup over the struggling Jake Cave. For the season, Clemens has cobbled together an unimpressive .160/.222/.400 slash line in 27 plate appearances, and he'll be a prime candidate to see his opportunities fall by the wayside as soon as Bryce Harper (elbow) is cleared to return from the 10-day injured list.

  • Ryan Noda 1B | BAL

Athletics' Ryan Noda: Not starting versus southpaw

Noda is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Reds.

Noda went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts Saturday and will take a seat Sunday with lefty Nick Lodolo on the mound for Cincinnati. Jesus Aguilar will start at first base while Carlos Perez bats fifth as the designated hitter.

  • Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL

Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Leaves with stomach illness

Cooper left Sunday's game against the Cubs with an upset stomach, Andre Fernandez of the Miami Herald reports. he went 1-for-2 before exiting.

Cooper can be considered day-to-day, but with the Marlins off Monday, he should have a good chance at returning to the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta. Jesus Sanchez came off the bench to serve as Cooper's replacement following the latter's early depature.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Sitting again Sunday

France is feeling under the weather Sunday, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports, and the first baseman isn't in the lineup for the series finale against the Blue Jays.

France stepped out of the lineup Saturday while in the midst of a 1-for-25 slump, though he came off the bench and earned a walk as a pinch hitter. The Mariners have a scheduled day off Monday, and the 28-year-old should be back in action for Tuesday's series opener versus the A's. Sam Haggerty is manning first base and batting eighth Sunday.

  • Josh Bell DH | MIN

Guardians' Josh Bell: Slugs third homer

Bell went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Saturday's 8-7 extra-inning loss to the Red Sox.

Bell's blast got the Guardians on the board in the second inning. He's logged four extra-base hits over his last six games, but he's had some trouble establishing over-the-fence power this season. The first baseman is slashing .214/.316/.398 with three homers, nine doubles, 13 RBI and seven runs scored through 26 contests.

  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tallies two thefts

Freeman went 0-for-3 with a walk and two stolen bases in Saturday's 1-0 win over St. Louis.

Though he didn't pick up any hits in the contest, Freeman gave his fantasy managers a positive performance with a pair of steals. They were the second and third thefts of the season for the veteran first baseman, who tallied a career-high 13 stolen bases last year. Freeman is putting together another strong campaign at the plate, slashing .294/.376/.459 with four homers, nine RBI and 21 runs scored.

  • Yandy Diaz 1B | TB

Rays' Yandy Diaz: Still out Sunday

Diaz (shoulder) is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the White Sox, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Diaz will be out of the lineup for the second consecutive game after he exited Friday's contest with soreness in his left shoulder. The 31-year-old should be available off the bench and will now have Monday's team off day to aid in his recovery before potentially missing more time. Luke Raley will start at first base in Sunday's series finale.

  • Josh Naylor 1B | SEA

Guardians' Josh Naylor: Takes seat Sunday

Naylor is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Red Sox.

Naylor went 3-for-5 with a double while driving in three runs in the extra-inning loss to Boston on Saturday, and his reward is a day of rest against the Red Sox on Sunday. Josh Bell is playing first base and hitting cleanup in Naylor's absence with Jose Ramirez getting the start at designated hitter and Gabriel Arias at third base.

  • Triston Casas 1B | BOS

Red Sox's Triston Casas: Expected to sit Sunday

Casas is unlikely to play Sunday against the Guardians, Christopher Smith of The Springfield Republican reports.

Casas was given Saturday off, and manager Alex Cora thinks another day off makes sense for the struggling first baseman. The 23-year-old rookie is batting only .133 (10-for-75) with a .283 on-base percentage and .293 slugging percentage.
