  • Donovan Solano 1B | TEX

Twins' Donovan Solano: Continues to serve as starting 1B

Solano will start at first base and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

After taking a seat for Tuesday's 4-2 loss, Solano will draw back into the lineup for the series finale for what will be his 14th start in 15 games. The 35-year-old has been a major boon for fantasy managers in the batting-average category in August (.361 over 72 at-bats), but his production is lacking in just about every other area (no home runs or stolen bases, nine runs and seven RBI). He's firmly supplanted Joey Gallo as the Twins' top option at first base at the moment, though Solano will be at risk of falling into a short-side platoon role once Alex Kirilloff (shoulder) returrns from the injured list.

  • Carlos Santana 1B | ARI

Brewers' Carlos Santana: Returns to lineup

Santana (ankle) will start at first base and bat third in Wednesday's game versus the Cubs.

Santana missed the previous two games with a sprained right ankle but is feeling well enough to give it a go Wednesday. The veteran first baseman comes into the series finale with the Cubs with a .701 OPS but six home runs in his first 25 contests as a member of the Brewers.

  • Matthew Batten 3B | ATL

Padres' Matthew Batten: Four hits in loss

Batten went 4-for-4 with two doubles and two runs scored in Tuesday's loss to St. Louis.

Batten got the start at third base against left-hander Zack Thompson and rewarded the Padres with a four-hit performance, his second multi-hit effort of the year. Batten's made two starts since he was recalled from Triple-A on Saturday, going 5-for-7 with two doubles and a home run. He's now batting .367 (11-for-30) with two homers, seven runs scored, four RBI and a 1.074 OPS through 34 plate appearances with San Diego this season. While his current pace isn't likely sustainable, Batten has an opportunity for regular playing time while Jake Cronenworth (wrist) is sidelined.

  • Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Expected to avoid surgery

Cronenworth is not expected to need surgery to repair his fractured right wrist, MLB.com reports.

Undergoing surgery would no doubt end his season, although it would still seem to be a long shot that he makes it back given that he'll be in a cast for several weeks. With the Padres' playoff hopes growing slimmer by the day, it makes little sense for Cronenworth to rush back.

  • Alec Bohm 3B | PHI

Phillies' Alec Bohm: Goes deep in win

Bohm went 2-for-3 with a double, a decisive three-run home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's 12-7 victory over the Angels.

The 27-year-old infielder launched a go-ahead three-run homer immediately following an intentional walk to Bryce Harper in the sixth inning. Bohm's blast was his 15th of the campaign, further adding to his career high. His season-long slash line now sits at .283/.339/.440 with 82 RBI and 64 runs through 118 games.

  • Ty France 1B | SD

Mariners' Ty France: Removed with bruised wrist

France was pulled from Tuesday's game with a left wrist contusion.

France was hit in the wrist during a pickoff attempt in the second inning of Tuesday's contest and was taken out of the game shortly afterward. France's injury certainly could have been much worse, but his status for Wednesday's game is uncertain. For now, fantasy managers should consider him day-to-day.

  • LaMonte Wade LF | HOU

Giants' LaMonte Wade: Sitting against lefty

Wade isn't in the Giants' lineup Tuesday against the Reds, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.

With lefty Brandon Williamson set to start on the mound for Cincinnati, Wade will retreat to the bench Tuesday. J.D. Davis will fill in at first base while Casey Schmitt gets the nod at third.

  • Matt Beaty 1B | KC

Royals' Matt Beaty: Steps out of lineup

Beaty is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Pirates.

Beaty started the past five games but will take a seat Tuesday after he went 3-for-12 with two walks and two runs during that stretch. Salvador Perez will rest his legs at first base while Freddy Fermin steps in behind the plate.

  • Alex Kirilloff LF | MIN

Twins' Alex Kirilloff: Beginning assignment Wednesday

Kirilloff (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Wednesday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

Kirilloff and Byron Buxton (hamstring) will both be making their first rehab appearances Wednesday and figure to return early in September. Kirilloff was slashing .259/.305/.593 since the All-Star break when he landed on the injured list July 30.

  • Rowdy Tellez 1B | ATL

Brewers' Rowdy Tellez: Sitting against lefty

Tellez is absent from the lineup Tuesday against the Cubs.

Mark Canha will play first base and William Contreras will serve as the Brewers' designated hitter as they take on left-hander Justin Steele. The left-handed-hitting Tellez has slashed just .175/.267/.250 in 45 plate appearances versus southpaws this year.
