Polanco (Achilles) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Cubs.

Polanco has battled nagging bursitis in his left Achilles and will miss a second straight start. The Mets have not ruled out placing the veteran on the injured list, but no move was made prior to Friday's afternoon contest at Wrigley Field. MJ Melendez will occupy the designated hitter slot and Brett Baty will play first base in the series opener.

Pasquantino went 1-for-5 with a solo home run in Thursday's 10-9 loss against the Tigers.

Pasquantino was held hitless through his first four at-bats before breaking through in the ninth inning with a 412-foot solo shot off Connor Seabold to extend the lead. The homer was Pasquantino's first of the season and provided a small bright spot amid a difficult start to the year. The 28-year-old is now slashing .155/.244/.239 with nine RBI and five runs scored across 82 plate appearances.

Kurtz went 2-for-4 with a double, three RBI and a walk in Thursday's 9-6 loss to Texas.

The 23-year-old slugger collected a season-high three RBI on Thursday, also posting his fourth multi-hit effort of the year. Although Kurtz mashed right-handed pitching to the tune of a 1.153 OPS a year ago, he's off to a sluggish start versus right-handers in 2026. He has a .650 OPS through 42 at-bats against righties so far, though Kurtz did enter Wednesday with an elite 58.6 percent hard-hit rate overall and should find his power stroke soon enough.

Aranda is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Aranda has started each of the Rays' first 17 games to begin the season, so Thursday's series finale against the White Sox will be his first breather. The first baseman has slashed .227/.316/.424 with three home runs, 15 RBI, nine runs scored and a 10:17 BB:K across his first 79 plate appearances. He's in the midst of a seven-game homer-less streak. Ryan Vilade is making the start at first and batting fifth Thursday.

O'Hearn is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Nationals.

The left-handed-hitting O'Hearn has been getting an opportunity to play against most lefties this season, but he'll begin this one on the bench as the Nationals send southpaw Foster Griffin to the hill. Jake Mangum will occupy right field and bat leadoff for the Pirates.

Stewart went 2-for-4 with two home runs and six RBI in Wednesday's win over the Giants.

Stewart delivered the biggest game of his young career, launching two three-run homers in the first two innings to put Cincinnati firmly in control. His first long ball gave the Reds an immediate lead in the first, and he followed it up an inning later with another three-run shot off Tyler Mahle to break the game open. It was Stewart's first career multi-homer game, and his six RBI set a career high. The 22-year-old continues to be one of baseball's breakout stars early on, batting .323 while ranking near the top of the league in home runs (seven), slugging percentage (.726) and OPS (1.160) through 18 games.

O'Hearn went 3-for-4 with a run scored and a stolen base Wednesday against the Nationals.

O'Hearn managed his sixth multi-hit performance across 17 games to begin the season, and his second in his last four contests. He also recorded his first stolen base of the year. O'Hearn has had a strong start to his first campaign in Pittsburgh, hitting .333 with nine runs scored, 13 RBI and three home runs.

Caglianone went 3-for-3 with a triple and a walk in Wednesday's 2-1 loss to the Tigers.

Caglianone snapped out of a recent slump with his best game in weeks, reaching base in all four plate appearances. The outfielder ripped a 113.5-mph triple to lead off the third inning for Kansas City's first baserunner of the day, before drawing a walk in the fifth and being stranded at third. He added singles in both the seventh and ninth but never crossed the plate. Entering Wednesday, the former sixth overall pick had gone just 3-for-27 (.111) with a 2:12 BB:K over his previous eight games. Following the breakout performance, Caglianone is now batting a respectable .275 with a .754 OPS on the season.

Polanco isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers due to pain related to his Achilles bursitis, Laura Albanese of Newsday reports.

Wednesday will mark the third game Polanco has missed in the past week while battling an Achilles issue that has bothered him since the regular season began. Manager Carlos Mendoza said the Mets may place the 32-year-old on the injured list, but the team will wait to see how he feels ahead of Friday's series opener against the Cubs before making a decision.

The Mets placed Young on the 10-day injured list Wednesday, retroactive to Monday, due to a meniscus tear in his left knee.

Young reported discomfort in his left knee Tuesday, and further imaging revealed a more severe injury that will result in the 30-year-old undergoing surgery, per Will Sammon of The Athletic. It's a significant blow to the Mets' depth at first base and in the outfield, especially with Juan Soto (calf) still on the 10-day IL. Young is looking at a lengthy absence depending on the extent of the surgery needed to repair the tear, which could have him sidelined until the summer.
