Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Hits IL with ear infection
Miami placed Cooper on the 10-day injured list Wednesday with an inner ear infection, Jordan McPherson of the Miami Herald reports.
Cooper exited Sunday's win over the Cubs and didn't play in Tuesday's loss to Atlanta with what had been called an upset stomach, but he's evidently dealing with a different physical concern. It's not entirely clear whether he'll be ready to return from the IL when first eligible May 12. Yuli Gurriel will likely serve as the regular first baseman for the Marlins while Cooper is out.

Kody Clemens 1B | MIN
Phillies' Kody Clemens: On bench for second straight game
Clemens is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers.
Before taking a seat for Tuesday's 13-1 loss, Clemens had started in three consecutive games at either first base or designated hitter, going 2-for-11 with a pair of home runs and a walk. With Bryce Harper (elbow) returning from the 10-day injured list Tuesday and set to serve as the Phillies' full-time designated hitter moving forward, Clemens doesn't look like he'll have a path to playing on a regular basis.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: In lineup versus lefty
Wade is starting at first base and batting ninth Wednesday in Houston, Maria I. Guardado of MLB.com reports.
The Astros are throwing left-hander Framber Valdez, but Wade has earned an everyday lineup spot with the way he's swinging the bat. It's the eighth straight start for Wade, which includes two versus lefties over that span.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Slugs fifth homer
Freeman went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run, a double and two total runs scored in Tuesday's 13-1 win over the Phillies.
Freeman's blast was part of a five-run rally in the eighth inning that turned this contest into a true blowout. The first baseman has multiple hits in five of his last 10 games, going 15-for-43 (.349) over that span. He's up to a .309/.386/.496 slash line with five homers, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored, four stolen bases and seven doubles through 31 contests.

Christian Walker 1B | HOU
Diamondbacks' Christian Walker: Smacks fifth homer
Walker went 2-for-5 with a solo home run and an additional run scored in Tuesday's loss to Texas.
Walker led off the third with a solo shot to put the Diamondbacks up 4-1. But Arizona couldn't hold that lead, and Walker flew out to end the game with the tying run on base. The first baseman has 20 RBI in 28 games while operating out of the top half of a productive Arizona lineup.

Alec Bohm 3B | PHI
Phillies' Alec Bohm: Batting seventh again Tuesday
Bohm is batting seventh Tuesday night against the Dodgers.
There has been talk of Bohm possibly dropping to the eighth spot in the order following the return of Bryce Harper, but the Phillies' current RBI leader will remain at seventh for now. Harper is batting third in his season debut Tuesday night at Dodger Stadium. Brandon Marsh is hitting eighth with left-hander Julio Urias on the mound for Los Angeles.

Garrett Cooper 1B | ATL
Marlins' Garrett Cooper: Out with illness Tuesday
Cooper (illness) is out of the lineup Tuesday against Atlanta, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.
Cooper made an early exit from Sunday's series finale against the Cubs due to an upset stomach and he'll grab a bit more rest and treatment during Tuesday's series opener versus the reigning NL East champions. Yuli Gurriel is at first base and Jorge Soler will be the designated hitter.

LaMonte Wade 1B | CHW
Giants' LaMonte Wade: Stays hot Monday
Wade went 2-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in Monday's 7-3 loss to Houston.
Wade's sixth homer of the season cut the Astros' lead to 7-3 in the eighth. He's now hit safely in six straight games, totaling six extra-base knocks and five RBI during that stretch. His recent hot stretch has upped his slash line to .260/.443/.575 through 26 games (98 plate appearances).

Pete Alonso 1B | BAL
Mets' Pete Alonso: Drills three-run homer
Alonso went 1-for-8 with a three-run home run and an additional run scored across both games of a doubleheader against Atlanta on Monday.
Alonso's lone hit of the twin bill was a big one, as he launched a three-run shot off Spencer Strider in the matinee that gave New York life after initially trailing 6-1. The homer was the 11th of the campaign for Alonso, vaulting him into a tie with Max Muncy for most in the majors. Alonso is also tied for second in MLB with 28 RBI.

Brandon Dixon 1B | SD
Padres' Brandon Dixon: Returns to Triple-A
The Padres optioned Dixon to Triple-A El Paso on Monday.
Dixon was up with the Padres for the weekend as the big club's 27th man for its two-game series with the Giants in Mexico City. He didn't appear in either contest and should now settle back into a near-everyday role with El Paso during Pacific Coast League play.
