  • Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Tallies trio of hits Tuesday

Freeman went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI in a 5-4 win against the Reds on Tuesday.

Freeman singled three times in the victory, and his clutch seventh-inning knock tied the score 4-4. It was the All-Star first baseman's first three-hit performance since June 28. Freeman ended the first half of the campaign in a 5-for-33 stretch at the plate, but he's bounced back a bit since the All-Star break, batting .293 over 11 contests. However, Freeman is stuck on 10 long balls for the season and hasn't gone deep since that June 28 three-hit game against Kansas City.

  • Michael Toglia 1B | COL

Rockies' Michael Toglia: Homers in loss

Toglia went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's loss to the Guardians.

Toglia's lone hit of the night went deep to left field in the seventh. It was his first hit since July 18 and just his second home run since June 19. There's known power in Toglia's bat, but he has played himself out of a regular role at first base due to his cold hitting.

  • Andrew Vaughn 1B | MIL

Brewers' Andrew Vaughn: Brings home six runs

Vaughn went 3-for-4 with a home run, six RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's win over the Cubs.

Vaughn singled and scored in the second inning before bringing home a run with a sacrifice fly in the third. He knocked an RBI single in the fifth and capped off his day with a game-sealing grand slam in the sixth. Vaughn has gone deep three times in his last four games and has knocked five long balls in 15 games since joining the Brewers. The 27-year-old has gone 18-for-48 (.375) during that 15-game span. Vaughn is now slashing .227/.268/.408 with 10 home runs and 40 RBI in 63 total MLB games this season.

  • Rhys Hoskins 1B | MIL

Brewers' Rhys Hoskins: Out until at least late August

The Brewers announced Tuesday that the goal is for Hoskins (thumb) to begin rehab assignment in late August, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The veteran first baseman landed on the shelf in early July due to a Grade 2 thumb sprain, and his initial return timeline was about 6-to-8 weeks. Hoskins now appears to be trending toward the back end of that timeline, but he could still be activated before the end of August, depending on how long of a rehab stint he requires.

  • Jake Bauers 1B | MIL

Brewers' Jake Bauers: Rehab games mid-to-late-August

Bauers (shoulder) is going through a hitting progression and hopes to begin a rehab assignment in mid-to-late-August, Jack Stern of BrewerFanatic.com reports.

Bauers had previously mentioned mid-August as a target, but it would appear he's not coming along as quickly as hoped. The 29-year-old has been sidelined since just after the All-Star break with a left shoulder impingement.

  • Luis Arraez 1B | SD

Padres' Luis Arraez: Clubs rare homer

Arraez went 2-for-5 with a two-run home run in a 7-6 win against the Mets on Monday.

Arraez struck a ball off the right-field foul pole in the fifth inning for San Diego's lone long ball of the game. It was just the sixth homer this season for the contact-focused hitter, whose career high is 10 home runs set over 147 regular-season games with Miami in 2023. Arraez's two knocks Monday extended his hitting streak to 11 games, a span in which he's batting .391 (18-for-46) with just one strikeout.

  • Michael Busch 1B | CHC

Cubs' Michael Busch: Reaches three times in loss

Busch went 2-for-3 with a walk and a run scored in Monday's 8-4 loss to the Brewers.

As has become the norm recently against opposite-handed pitching, Busch batted leadoff with Milwaukee starting rookie righty Jacob Misiorowski. Busch has been tremendous in those matchups with a .958 OPS, 18 home runs and 56 RBI, while he frequently sits against southpaws. Even in this platoon arrangement, the 27-year-old has been able to be an impactful fantasy performer all season.

  • Endy Rodriguez 1B | PIT

Pirates' Endy Rodriguez: Taking part in light activity

Rodriguez (elbow) has been conducting his rehab at the Pirates' facility in Florida and has been able to take part in low-level strengthening and range-of-motion exercises, MLB.com reports.

Though Rodriguez isn't shut down from activity entirely since landing on the injured list June 7 after experiencing inflammation in his surgically repaired right elbow, he has yet to be cleared for baseball-specific workouts and thus appears to be a long way off from being activated. Rodriguez's surgeon, Dr. Neal ElAttrache, has recommended that the Pirates take a slow approach with the 25-year-old, who is less than two years removed from his elbow operation.

  • Dodgers' Enrique Hernandez: Still not doing baseball activities

Hernandez (elbow) has yet to resume baseball activities, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Dodgers remain optimistic that Hernandez will return from his left elbow inflammation before the end of the season, but it appears it will not happen anytime soon. Hernandez has been sidelined since early July.

  • Diamondbacks' Tristin English: Records first MLB hit

English went 1-for-3 with a double in Sunday's 6-0 loss to the Pirates.

English logged his first hit in the majors when he laced a third-inning double off Pittsburgh right-hander Paul Skenes. English has started at first base in all three games since the Diamondbacks traded Josh Naylor last Thursday.
