Abreu went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's loss to the Royals.

The White Sox fell into an early 6-0 deficit behind starter Lucas Giolito before Abreu provided a small glimmer of hope with a fourth-inning solo shot to center field. The long ball was his first since he went deep in back-to-back games July 19 and 20. Since that time, Abreu is slashing just .122/.280/.195 with one extra-base hit and 11 strikeouts over 12 games.

Mountcastle went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a sacrifice fly in Wednesday's 10-3 loss to the Yankees.

The 24-year-old accounted for two of Baltimore's three runs in the contest. Mountcastle has hit safely in seven straight games, going 13-for-28 (.464) in that span. He's lifted his slash line to .262/.307/.475 with 19 homers, 62 RBI, 49 runs scored and four stolen bases through 398 plate appearances while hitting in the heart of Baltimore's order.

Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a solo home run and a walk in Wednesday's 10-3 win over Baltimore.

The first baseman continues to make an impact early on in his Yankees tenure, as this was his third homer in six games since he was traded from the Cubs. Rizzo also has an RBI in all six of his games in pinstripes. Overall, he's slashing .257/.357/.469 with 17 long balls, 46 RBI, 50 runs scored and four stolen bases through 403 plate appearances this season.

Olson went 2-for-5 with a walkoff two-run double in Wednesday's 5-4 extra-inning win over San Diego.

The first baseman came up to bat with runners at the corners in the 10th inning, and he knocked a double off the right-field wall to complete Oakland's comeback win. Olson has remained productive thus far in the second half of the campaign, going 16-for-61 (.262) with five home runs, 13 RBI, 11 runs scored and six doubles since the All-Star break.

Gurriel (neck) is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Dodgers, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

The 37-year-old was scratched from Tuesday's starting nine with neck stiffness and apparently requires another day off. Gurriel should be considered day-to-day as the Astros finish their two-game set in Los Angeles and return home to face the Twins starting Thursday. Aledmys Diaz once again fills in at first base, batting fifth in Wednesday's order.

Dalbec is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Tigers.

Dalbec drew six consecutive starts -- all against left-handed pitchers -- to close out last week, going 3-for-18 with a home run and a double over that stretch. With Boston opening the current week with a pair of matchups versus right-handed pitching (Wily Peralta and Casey Mize), the right-handed-hitting Dalbec has been stuck on the bench. Dalbec looks set to fill a short-side platoon role at first base with either Franchy Cordero or Marwin Gonzalez.

Voit (knee) went 1-for-3 with a solo home run in a rehab appearance with Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Tuesday.

The first baseman got his rehab stint off to a promising start by smashing a solo shot in the sixth inning. He played seven frames at first base in the Triple-A contest, per Conor Foley of The Scranton Times-Tribune. While Voit is clearly on the mend, the Yankees' trade-deadline acquisition of Anthony Rizzo likely means Voit won't have an everyday role with the big club waiting for him when he's able to return. Per Randy Miller of NJ Advance Media, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman suggested that Voit's injuries this season have led to the loss of his starting role. "He's kind of like the NFL starting quarterback where he goes down early in the year, but by the time he gets back the position is now gone," Cashman said Sunday during an interview with Jim Bowden and Jim Duquette on Sirius/XM's MLB Network Radio. The general manager did not altogether rule out the idea of Voit being a major contributor this season, however. "This guy obviously can help us. The lane that used to be so obvious currently isn't there, so obviously we are a lot deeper with everything we have. We have more choices, more protection because of it, but unfortunately right now he's going to get some at-bats and do what he does best (in rehab games), which is crush it, and then we'll see how he's going to fit as we move forward."

Diaz is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Mariners.

After going 1-for-11 with four strikeouts while starting in each of the past three games, Diaz will move to the bench for the series finale. Ji-Man Choi and Joey Wendle will man the corner-infield spots for Tampa Bay.

Vaughn went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, a walk and two runs scored Tuesday against the Royals.

Vaughn got the scoring started for the White Sox in the second inning when he hit his 12th home run of the season. He now has at least one hit in 11 of his last 13 starts. While he has only two home runs in that span, Vaughn has tallied seven RBI, seven runs scored and four doubles. Overall, he owns a .258/.323/.453 line across 334 plate appearances on the campaign.

Gurriel was scratched from Tuesday's lineup against the Dodgers with neck stiffness, Brian McTaggart of MLB.com reports.

Gurriel was penciled in to start at first base, per usual, but the neck issue appeared to flare up during his pregame work. He should be considered day-to-day while Aledmys Diaz covers first base in his place and Robel Garcia starts at third.
