Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Breaks open game with HR
Lowe went 1-for-3 with a walk, a three-run home run and a second run scored in Thursday's 10-3 win over Oakland.
Lowe's fifth-inning homer gave the Rangers separation on their way to a lopsided victory. It was his 17th home run in 113 games, leaving him one shy of the career high he set in 2021 over 157 games. It's been a tumultuous week in Arlington -- both manager Chris Woodward and general manager Jon Daniels were given pink slips -- but that didn't distract Lowe, who is 7-for-18 in five games this week. He's slashed .353/.405/.588 over 27 games since the All-Star break, all while batting no lower than fifth in the order.

Yandy Diaz 1B | TB
Rays' Yandy Diaz: Exits with knee soreness
Diaz was removed from Thursday's game against Kansas City with left knee soreness, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.
Diaz exited in the seventh inning after he appeared to suffer the injury while rounding third base. Prior to his departure, Diaz powered the Rays' offense, going 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI and two runs scored. There's no timetable for his potential return to the lineup, but Yu Chang is a potential beneficiary of any extended absence for Diaz.

Anthony Rizzo 1B | NYY
Yankees' Anthony Rizzo: Breaks out of slump with homer
Rizzo went 1-for-4 with a solo homer and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-7 victory over the Rays.
Rizzo led off the eighth inning with a home run off lefty reliever Brooks Raley to tie the game for the Yankees. After hitting homers in four straight games from July 29 to August 2, the first baseman has fallen into a slump with a .097 average and .410 OPS in 31 at-bats over his last nine games. The 33-year-old is more productive at home with a .545 slugging percentage and 18 home runs in 200 at-bats compared to a .440 slugging percentage and 10 home runs in 175 at-bats away from Yankee Stadium.

Kole Calhoun 1B | CLE
Rangers' Kole Calhoun: Beginning rehab assignment
Calhoun (heel) will report to Triple-A Round Rock on Wednesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Though Calhoun hadn't resumed baseball activities as of Friday, he's evidently made substantial progress in the last few days, given that he's advanced to a minor-league rehab assignment. Assuming his right heel doesn't cause him any problems while playing for Round Rock, he could be cleared to return from the injured list as soon as this weekend.

Josh Naylor 1B | SEA
Guardians' Josh Naylor: Back in action Wednesday
Naylor (ankle) is starting Wednesday against the Tigers.
Naylor sustained an ankle injury during the second game of Monday's doubleheader and wasn't in Tuesday's lineup, but he went 0-for-1 as a pinch hitter. The 25-year-old will serve as the designated hitter and bat fifth Wednesday.

Ty France 1B | SD
Mariners' Ty France: Gets Wednesday off
France is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels.
France will sit for the day game after he had started in each of the Mariners' last 12 contests following a four-game absence due to a wrist injury. Carlos Santana will step in at first base for France, who went 1-for-4 with a walk and a pair of RBI in Tuesday's 8-2 win.

Nick Pratto 1B | TEX
Royals' Nick Pratto: On bench Wednesday
Pratto isn't starting Wednesday against the Twins.
Pratto started the last two games and went 0-for-5 with two strikeouts. He'll get a breather while Vinnie Pasquantino shifts to first base with Brent Rooker starting in right field.

Jose Abreu 1B | HOU
White Sox's Jose Abreu: Racks up three hits in win
Abreu went 3-for-4 with a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Astros.
Abreu has multiple hits in six of his last 10 games, batting .410 (16-for-39) in that span. The first baseman has just one extra-base hit, a double, in that stretch, and he's posted a 2:10 BB:K. Despite the lack of power, he's finding ways to remain productive. The 35-year-old is up to a .307/.382/.466 slash line with 14 home runs, 56 RBI, 64 runs scored and 28 doubles through 498 plate appearances.

Nate Lowe 1B | CIN
Rangers' Nathaniel Lowe: Hitting streak at seven games
Lowe went 3-for-4 in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Athletics.
The Rangers got seven hits from the Nos. 4-6 hitters, but it didn't lead to sustained rallies. Lowe has hit safely in seven straight games and has multiple hits in seven of 15 games in August. For the month, he's batting .400 (22-for-55) with five extra-base hits, lifting his season slash line to .291/.341/.463 through 111 contests. He's added 16 home runs, 49 RBI, 51 runs scored and two stolen bases.

Carlos Santana 1B | ARI
Mariners' Carlos Santana: Sitting again Tuesday
Santana is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Lefty Jose Suarez is pitching Tuesday for the Halos, and Santana finds himself on the bench for the third time in the past four games. The switch-hitting first baseman has a .668 OPS through 12 games in August. The Mariners appear content to open up a full-time role for Sam Haggerty in the outfield while deploying Mitch Haniger as their primary designated hitter rather than the slumping Santana.
