  • Giants' Zacch Pickens: Claimed by Giants

The Giants claimed Pickens on Tuesday, Matt Clark of the team's official site reports. Pickens is headed to New York after having been waived by the Chiefs on Monday. The 26-year-old recorded five tackles (three solo) across three games with Kansas City last season and will likely compete for a depth role with the Giants.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Rotational role in 2024

Pickens was inactive in the last two games of the season, and he ended the year with 19 tackles (eight solo), including 1.0 sacks, in nine games. When on the field, Pickens often played about 40 percent of the snaps each week. After recording five tackles over his first six games, Pickens increased his production by averaging 4.7 stops over his last three contests. The defensive tackle is under contract with the Bears through 2026.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Collects first sack of season

Pickens tallied 1.0 sacks and four tackles in the Bears' 34-17 loss to the Lions on Sunday. Pickens failed to post more than two stops in any game through Week 13, but the second-year player has recorded at least four tackles in each of the last three games. With three games being a trend, Pickens should be considered an IDP streamer as an interior defensive lineman.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Won't suit up at Indianapolis

Pickens (groin) is listed as out for Sunday's game at the Colts. Pickens will be sidelined for the second time this season in Week 3 as he continues to deal with a lingering groin issue. Chris Williams should continue to benefit from Pickens' absence in terms of playing time.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Doesn't practice Wednesday

Head coach Matt Eberflus told reporters that Pickens (groin) won't practice Wednesday, Chris Emma of 670TheScore.com reports. Pickens sustained a groin injury during the Bears' Week 2 loss, so it's no surprise that the 24-year-old will be held out of Wednesday's practice. His participation in practice both Thursday and Friday will provide a greater indication of his Week 3 availability.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Questionable to return

Pickens (groin) is questionable to return to Sunday's contest against the Texans. Pickens appears to have picked up a groin injury against Houston and his status for the rest of the game is now up in the air. In his absence, Chris Williams could see an increase in his workload at defensive tackle.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Full practice participant Thursday

Pickens (groin) practiced in full Thursday. Pickens was held out of the Bears' Week 1 win over the Titans due to a groin injury. He started this week as a limited participant Wednesday, but his full participation Thursday bodes well for his chances of playing against the Texans on Sunday. The 2023 third-round pick appeared in all 17 regular-season games for the Bears last year, and he finished with 20 tackles (nine solo), including 0.5 sacks, one pass defended and one forced fumble.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Concludes rookie season

Pickens posted two tackles in the Bears' 17-9 loss to the Packers on Sunday. After being selected in the third round of the 2023 draft, Pickens was a rotational player who was on the field for 251 snaps in 17 games. On the season, the defensive tackle recorded 20 tackles and a forced fumble. If his snap share increases, he could emerge as a solid interior lineman in IDP leagues. Pickens is signed with the Bears through 2026.

  • Bears' Zacch Pickens: Added by Chicago in third round

The Bears selected Pickens in the third round of the 2023 NFL Draft, 64th overall. Pickens (6-foot-4, 291 pounds) is big by defensive end standards but light compared to most tackles, making him a bit of a tweener who might fit best in odd-numbered fronts. Pickens' production was lacking at South Carolina otherwise, but his 4.89 40-yard dash and 116-inch broad jump indicate uncommon disruptive potential for one-gap tasks.
