Trotter (shoulder) has been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Vikings.
Trotter was a limited participant in Friday's practice after opening the week with back-to-back DNPs. However, the rookie second-rounder has not progressed enough in his recovery from a shoulder injury to play Sunday, so he'll aim toward being available for Week 4 against Green Bay on Sunday, Oct. 4. One of Christian Rozeboom and SirVocea Dennis will start at inside linebacker next to Alex Anzalone in Trotter's absence.

Trotter (shoulder) did not participate in Thursday's practice.
Trotter has opened Week 3 prep with back-to-back DNPs due to a shoulder injury he presumably sustained during this past Sunday's 23-19 loss to the Browns. He'll need to practice in at least a limited capacity Friday to have a realistic chance of playing this Sunday against the Vikings. SirVocea Dennis and Christian Rozeboom would be the top candidates to start alongside Alex Anzalone at inside linebacker if Trotter is unable to play.
