Player Outlook
Williams and Josh Cameron were both Round 6 picks for the Jaguars in the 2026 NFL Draft. They will compete for a roster spot in one of the most crowded receiving rooms in the NFL. Neither should be selected in redraft leagues, and it is quite likely they won't be picked in your rookie draft either. If either of them has a good training camp and you have an extra spot on your taxi squad, they could be a Dynasty add in August. Williams scored 42.8% of Stanford's receiving touchdowns last year.

  • Jaguars' C.J. Williams: Five touches in Friday's preseason loss

Williams caught all four of his targets for 22 yards and gained two rushing yards on his lone carry during Friday's 34-17 preseason loss to the Panthers. Four of Williams' five touches came in the first quarter with Nick Mullens under center, as the Jaguars rested their likely Week 1 starters on offense. Williams is battling fellow sixth-round rookie Josh Cameron for a spot on the gameday roster, but neither should be expected to see a significant role unless injuries to Parker Washington (undisclosed) and Jakobi Meyers (hand) linger into the regular season.

  • Jaguars' C.J. Williams: Makes two catches to open preseason

Williams hauled in two of five targets for 28 yards during Saturday's 24-20 preseason win at New Orleans. The Jaguars selected two wide receivers in the sixth round of the 2026 Draft, with Josh Cameron going 191st overall and Williams at 203rd overall. Both of them played the first half in the team's exhibition opener, but Williams outproduced Cameron's 1-17-0 on three targets. All of Brian Thomas, Parker Washington, Jakobi Meyers and CB/WR Travis Hunter are locked into the top spots at the position on the depth chart, so Williams and Cameron likely are jostling along with Tim Jones and Austin Trammell for one of the final jobs on the roster.
