  • Bears' Dayo Odeyingbo: Plays in Saturday opener

Odeyingbo made one tackle assist in Saturday's preseason opener against the Browns. Odeyingbo played 12 defensive snaps in the contest, good for 18 percent of the Bears' defensive plays. The defensive end has just recovered from an Achilles tendon tear and was quickly shut down alongside the rest of the starters after gaining a glimpse of 2026 NFL action.

  • Bears' Dayo Odeyingbo: Back in the mix for training camp

Defensive coordinator Dennis Allen noted this week that Odeyingbo (Achilles) will "definitely be in the mix" at defensive end when the Bears get to training camp, Courtney Cronin of ESPN reports. Odeyingbo was limited to eight games during the 2025 regular season after sustaining a torn Achilles Nov. 2. It remains to be seen if the 2021 second-rounder, who signed a three-year, $48 million contract with the Bears in March of 2025, is limited at the start of training camp, but barring any setbacks, the 26-year-old should be able to reclaim his key role along Chicago's defensive line ahead of Week 1. Prior to his injury, Odeyingbo had recorded 21 tackles and 1.0 sacks. The Vanderbilt product's career high in sacks came in 2023, when he recorded 8.0 sacks in 17 regular-season contests with the Colts.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Sees sacks total fall in 2024

Odeyingbo produced 31 tackles, including 3.0 sacks, along with two forced fumbles and a recovered fumble over 17 regular-season games. For the third straight year, Odeyingbo played in all 17 regular-season contests. Despite the fact that he logged 120 more defensive snaps than in 2023, his total sacks dropped by over half, from 8.0 to 3.0. Odeyingbo is set to become an unrestricted free agent, and it's unclear if Indianapolis will look to bring him back.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Will play through hamstring issue

Odeyingbo (hamstring) is active for Sunday's game against Miami. Odeyingbo picked up a hamstring injury in Week 6 against the Titans. He finished the week as a DNP on Friday, but the 2021 second-round pick will play through the injury for Sunday's game. Odeyingbo has accrued 11 tackles (six solo), including 2.0 sacks, and one forced fumble through the first six games of the regular season.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Returns to Sunday's game

Odeyingbo (hamstring) has returned to Sunday's game against the Titans, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. Odeyingbo is available to start the third quarter after leaving the game in the second quarter due to a hamstring injury. He recorded one QB hit in the first half and has 2.0 sacks on the season.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Exits with injury

Odeyingbo has left Sunday's game against the Titans due to a hamstring injury, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. Odeyingbo's exit will be another blow to the Colts' defensive line. Isaiah Land and Laiatu Latu will be tasked with seeing an uptick in work while the Vanderbilt product is sidelined.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Registers 1.5 sacks vs. Pittsburgh

Odeyingbo tallied three tackles (one solo), including 1.5 sacks, during Sunday's 27-24 win over the Steelers. Odeyingbo had a solo sack on quarterback Justin Fields for a four-yard loss late in the second quarter, and the former followed that up with a split sack with Tyquan Lewis (calf) just four plays later. Odeyingbo has logged 50 defensive snaps in each of the last two games, which coincides with Kwity Paye missing time due to a quadriceps injury. Through the first four games of the regular season, Odeyingbo has accumulated nine tackles (five solo), including 2.0 sacks.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Returns to practice

Odeyingbo (calf) returned to practice Wednesday, 93.5 The Fan Indianapolis reports. Odeyingbo is coming off the best season of his three-year career, finishing 2023 with 38 tackles (22 solo), including 8.0 sacks, two passes defended, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games. Odeyingbo and Kwity Paye are locked in as the Colts' top pass rushers heading into 2024 after Samson Ebukam suffered a torn Achilles' tendon.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Manages 8.0 sacks in 2023

Odeyingbo logged 38 tackles (22 solo), 8.0 sacks, two pass breakups, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries across 17 regular-season games with the Colts in 2023. Odeyingbo, a 2021 second-round pick, put together career-high numbers across the board in 2023. He's begun to find success as a key rotational pass rusher in Indianapolis' defensive scheme, and in 2024 Odeyingbo's numbers could uptick again if he's able to more consistently handle above 50 percent of defensive snaps.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Puts on weight in offseason

Odeyingbo is up to 285 pounds and says he can feel his Achilles getting stronger now that he's more than two years removed from tearing it, Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star reports. The Colts made Odeyingbo a second-round pick in April 2021, three months after he tore his Achilles while training for the draft. He played only 173 defensive snaps in 10 games as a rookie before progressing to 518 snaps (45.5 percent), 31 tackles and five sacks in 17 games last season. He, 2021 first-rounder Kwity Paye and offseason signee Samson Ebukam project for most of Indy's DE work this year, but Odeyingbo could also get some interior snaps on passing downs, especially if he keeps his weight above 280.

  • Colts' Dayo Odeyingbo: Just four snaps in season opener

Odeyingbo had one total tackle and played four snaps on defense in Sunday's tie at Houston. The Colts selected Odeyingbo in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft, 54th overall, despite him suffering a torn Achilles' tendon just a few months before the draft. He returned to play in 10 games last season, but he played just 167 snaps and had just six tackles. It looks like he'll begin the season far down the depth chart.
