The Texans placed Ingram (shoulder) on injured reserve Sunday with a designation to return, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Ingram will be required to miss the first four weeks of the regular season at least before he is eligible to return to the Texans' active roster. The reserve defensive back suffered a shoulder injury during the team's preseason opener against the Chargers in early August. Ingram appeared in four games for the Texans last year after being claimed off waivers from the Bills.

Ingram played just 23 snaps on defense, but he was responsible for two of the Bills' three interceptions on the night. He picked off Tua Tagovailoa early in the first quarter, which led to a 17-yard touchdown reception from Josh Allen to James Cook six plays later. Ingram was on the receiving end of a failed throw-away attempt from Tagovailoa on the Dolphins' first drive of the third quarter, which the former returned for a 31-yard pick-six that extended the Bills' lead to 21 points.
