The Colts signed Galbreath to a contract Friday. Galbreath was waived by the Steelers in early August. The tight end was likely brought in to bolster competition within the corps and provide depth for the preseason due to the absence of Tyler Warren (groin). Galbreath is a second-year player out of South Dakota who has not yet participated in an NFL regular-season game.

  • J.J. Galbreath: Gets cut by Steelers

Pittsburgh waived Galbreath on Friday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. The Steelers added Galbreath on a reserve/future deal back in January, but provided he's not claimed by another team during the current waiver period, he's now going back to free agency. He's still waiting to make his regular-season debut after going undrafted in 2025.

The Steelers signed Galbreath to a reserve/future deal Friday, Teresa Varley of the team's official site reports. Galbreath spent early September on the Steelers' practice squad after failing to make the team's active roster. The tight end was eventually cut to make space for other additions, but will return to the team for the start of the coming season's on-field activities. The 24-year-old now has another shot to make the Steelers' 53-man roster for the 2026 campaign.

  • J.J. Galbreath: Only TE on Pitt's practice squad

Galbreath signed with Pittsburgh's practice squad Wednesday. Galbreath is the only tight end on Pittsburgh's practice squad, so he'll presumably be the next man up should the team require reinforcements at the position. He went unclaimed on waivers after being cut earlier in the week.
