The Buccaneers waived Williams (hip) from injured reserve Wednesday with an injury designation, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Williams reverted to the Buccaneers' IR on Aug. 31 after clearing waivers. The undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati suffered a hip injury in the Buccaneers' preseason finale against the Jaguars. The safety clearly thinks he can regain his health quickly and join another team, as he is now a free agent with no ties to an NFL roster.

Williams suffered a hip injury in the Buccaneers' preseason finale against the Jaguars last Friday. The safety was waived with an injury designation Sunday and went unclaimed. The 23-year-old will now spend the entirety of his rookie season on injured reserve unless he is waived with an injury settlement.

Williams remained on the sideline, but the team is unsure if he will return to Friday's contest. The undrafted free agent out of Cincinnati is currently battling to survive Sunday's cutdown day, and the remainder of Friday's game will be the rookie's last chance to impress.
