    Jackson worked out for the Giants on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jackson was cut by the Panthers with an injury settlement in August but is evidently now healthy. The 26-year-old cornerback has appeared in 23 career regular-season games and last played for Carolina in 2023.

  • Lamar Jackson: Waived with injury designation

    The Panthers waived Jackson (undisclosed) from IR with an injury designation on Wednesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports. Jackson had reverted to Carolina's injured reserve list last week, but his settlement with the team will allow him the opportunity to ink elsewhere in the league this season, when healthy. He offers the ability to contribute as a depth cornerback and on special teams.

  • Lamar Jackson: Dropped by Carolina

    The Panthers waived Jackson (undisclosed) with an injury designation Monday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports. Jackson sustained an injury during Saturday's 15-12 preseason loss the the Jets, and Carolina has now decided to move on from the 26-year-old cornerback. If Jackson goes unclaimed on waivers, he'll revert back to the Panthers' injured reserve list and miss all of 2024 unless the two parties reach an injury settlement at some point this year.

    Jackson recorded two total tackles and defended two passes during Thursday's 17-3 preseason loss to the Patriots. Jackson started opposite Dane Jackson during Thursday's preseason contest. The former didn't disappoint, breaking up a pair of passes to go along with his two tackles. The Panthers' first three cornerback spots seem set in stone with Jaycee Horn, Dane Jackson and Troy Hill, but Lamar Jackson could easily slot in as Carolina's No. 4 corner if he continues to impress throughout the preseason.

Before returning to team facilities, the cornerback will now need to fully clear the league's COVID-19 protocols.
